What has been your experience working with Heather Aardema?
I can't recommend her strongly enough. She brings a smile to your face every time you're around her and the world is lighter and brighter because of Heather. She is such an encouragement and is masterful at helping you figure out the solution to your problem because we all have our own backstories.
What surprised you most about the School of Living Lighter approach?
I think what surprised me the most and has continued to be the best part is really just the simplicity. I think we complicate things a lot and we get in our head a lot, and her approach is simple, light, and straightforward. It's really just helping you lift yourself out of the rut.
What is the community atmosphere like within the group?
There's such lightness in the group. It's just really a freeing space; everybody just comes in with openness and authenticity and really genuine transparent vulnerability. It helps you realize there's nothing really wrong with me, I'm really normal, and we're all kind of in the same boat.
How does Heather help you change your perspective on 'heaviness'?
She offers so many different tips and ways of thinking. She gives you a lot of tools to keep things light. In those heavy moments, she helps you look at it differently to bring lightness to the situation. She is really good at looking at the words you're using and identifying if you're coming at something with a lens of heaviness, then asking questions to help you move forward.
What has been the most impactful part of the program for your daily life?
The fact that Heather approaches clutter from all the aspects of our life is different than anything I've seen anyone do before. When we deal with our mental clutter first, everything else becomes so much easier and it's lighter to deal with the physical things. That has been the most impactful in changing how I deal with my everyday life.
What is the ultimate benefit of joining this platform?
She's really good at helping you find your way off of your own hamster wheel and helping you discover the direction you're looking for. It's a path forward with no shame and no negativity. Everybody can use more joy and more lightness in their life.
