“I love that it is conveniently dropped off every month, and that I can just share my empty containers and jars and swap them for the fresh new batch.”
“It's easy to sometimes get a product that's organic, but then it's wrapped in plastic. And so there's aspects where other companies cut corners and I really respect that there's no cutting corners in this product.”
The interview
What do you think about the flavor and quality of Underground Bone Broth?
I love the flavor of the Underground Bone Broth. It is rich, it's creamy, and you can just tell the high quality ingredients inside of it. I find when I've gotten bone broth, even high quality, expensive bone broth from the store, it kinda has a bland taste, and I usually have to oversalt it just for it to taste decent. Whereas with the Underground Bone Broth, I heat it up, I'll put maybe a pinch of salt, and it tastes so delicious.
Why do you drink bone broth every day?
I drink bone broth almost every day for the health benefits, specifically for gut healing. I mean, there's been a ton of research on how much it helps with the gut, which has been a process that I've been working on for years. And then the other health benefits with the protein, it helps with collagen and skin. It's one of those things that has such a stack of so many good quality ingredients that are good for me now and good for me later.
How does the delivery and subscription service work for you?
I love that it is conveniently dropped off every month, and that I can just share my empty containers and jars and swap them for the fresh new batch. Because then it allows me to stick with a habit that I know is really good for me and it makes it super easy. I don't have to go to the store and make an event out of going to the farmer's market or trying to make my own.
What do you think about the founder and the production process?
I love supporting Remy. I think he has a phenomenal product and I love the intention and the high quality ingredients that Remy pours into the whole process. I love knowing that there's so much thought and intention poured into the process from start to finish, and there's no corners that are cut. Everything from the organic ingredients to the sixteen plus hours of it gently being simmered, and then also the glass jars.
How does the price compare to other options in Austin?
There is a well-known restaurant here in Austin that has amazing bone broth, but it is about twelve dollars a cup. Some of my friends and I loved it so much that there's oftentimes multiple times a week where we were ordering it. But it is like an entire extra line item on your budget once you look at it at the end of the month, plus it's a fraction of the price.
What would you tell your friends about switching to this broth?
I tell my friends, 'You're already putting that money to work in bone broth in other places. Just channel it here and it's gonna be even more convenient for you, and you're gonna like it even more, I believe, because I love the taste of it.'
