The interview

What challenges were you facing before attending 40 Years of Zen?

Six years ago, I was struggling with anxiety, and I felt like my brain wasn't working the way I thought it could work. I had a lot of attention issues and just life was difficult. It just felt very hard.

How has your life changed after the program?

I feel like my life is a lot more vibrant. I'm a lot happier. It makes your life so much easier and vibrant, and it just helps you also understand yourself better, so you know why you are the way you are. It removes those blockers away from your path so that you can move forward, be lighter and more efficient.

How did past memories affect your daily life before the training?

I felt like there are certain memories that have held me back. These memories operate in a way where they're kind of subtle and underlying every decision that I make. Because of the fear, distrust, and negative emotions associated with those memories, every decision I made felt like a part of my ego was holding me back, trying to protect me.

What specific shift did you feel regarding your decision-making process?

Through the work of clearing out those memories and rewriting those emotions, I feel like they no longer hold me back. It's so much easier to make decisions. I am a lot more intuitive, and I make decisions that are much more aligned with who I want to be and how I want to show up in the world.

Why did you choose 40 Years of Zen over other methods like meditation?

I wanted to upgrade my brain and be more efficient, making better decisions without having to meditate all day long. I trusted Dave Asprey's vision and the team and technology. I wanted this effective and efficient way to help me be a better person and see how neurofeedback can really change the physiology of your brain.

What part of the program did you appreciate the most?

What made me appreciate the program the most was the integration of the technology and the counseling—the talking side of things.

What was your biggest takeaway from the week?

Knowing that our parents tried their best and they wanted the best for us, but sometimes they don't have the awareness or it's a cultural difference. It's our job to unlearn some of those things so that we can live the life that we want and experience our true selves while still holding gratitude for them.

Hi, my name is Emma. I'm shooting this because six years ago, I was struggling with anxiety, and I felt like my brain wasn't working the way I thought it could work. I had a lot of attention issues and just life was difficult. It just felt very hard. And after attending 40 years of Zen, I feel like my life is a lot more vibrant. I'm a lot hackier. I highly recommend 40 years of Zen because it is that one decision that removes 100 decisions. It makes your life so much easier and happier and vibrant, and it just helps you also understand yourself better, so you know why you are the way you are. And it removes those blockers away from your path so that you can move forward, be lighter and more efficient, and basically the person that you want to be. Before 40 years of Zen, I felt like there are certain memories that have held me back. And these memories operate in a way where they're kind of subtle and underlying every decision that I make. So they hold me back in a way where it's not obvious how these memories affect my life, but because of the fear associated with it, because of the. The distrust and all the negative emotions associated with those memories, every decision I make, I feel like there's a part of. Maybe it's my ego that's holding me back, trying to protect me. But through the work that I've done at 40 years of Zen, clearing out those memories and then rewriting those emotions, I feel like they no longer hold me back. And the difference that I felt since then is that it's so much easier to make decisions. I am a lot more intuitive, and I make decisions that are much more aligned with who I want to be and how I want to show up in the world. And there's a lot less regrets in my life. What made me say yes to 40 years of Zen was wanting to upgrade my brain and be more efficient, making better decisions without having to meditate all day long. Honesty. And spend the time to do that. And I trusted Dave Asprey's vision and the team and technology, and I wanted this effective and efficient way to help me be a better person. And just learning more about neurofeedback and seeing how it can really change the physiology of your brain, it made so much sense to me, and I wanted something that could really make a difference. So that's why I chose 40 years of Zen. If I had any objections to doing 40 years of Zen, it would have been the investment itself. I had toyed with the idea of doing this for a bit. Initially, there was a bit of, I guess, concern of should I be spending this money on 40 years of Zen? There was also maybe a bit of a sense of guilt of, like, there's other people my age who can't do this, and so, do I deserve it? What made me appreciate the program the most was the integration of the technology and the counseling. So, the talking side of things, I'm most excited about showing up as my true, vibrant self without these concerns and worries pulling me back and holding me down. I feel like what's shifted most for me is a sense of lightness. My biggest takeaway from this week would be knowing that our parents tried their best and they wanted the best for us. They tried their best, but sometimes they either don't have the awareness or it's a cultural difference, or it's just a different time. And it's our job to unlearn some of those things so that we can live the life that we want and experience our true selves and still hold that gratitude for our parents, for raising us and for bringing us into this world. The main reason I would recommend 40 years of Zen is because the things that you would do here and the way that you upgrade your brain will impact your life in a way where that quote that says, the one decision that removes 100 decisions. And so when your brain is working more efficiently, when you remove those, the traumas that hold you back, then you have so many less decisions to make in life. And the path in front of you is so much clearer. And you treat yourself with more kindness, you treat other people with more kindness, and you are able to show up in this world the way you want to show up and not say that thing that you're like, oh, I wish I didn't say that, or, oh, I really didn't mean to do that. And now I worry if that hurts somebody that wasn't aligned with who I am. And so, having done the training here, it'll remove those moments from your life, and it just makes everything so much easier.
