Dynamic Keynote Speaker Energizes Disrupt HR Audience With Authentic and Concise Communication

Disrupt HR in and of itself is unique. Each speaker only gets five minutes. So they're rotating on and off stage. There's a lot going on. But I think overall, they were energized by what he brought to the stage. And I think that they all felt that connection with him because he kind of made his way on stage, kind of dancing along. And so he totally nailed the experience that we're looking to bring to our audience. which is someone who's really engaging. They have a message to share. They gotta make it quick. They have to be concise and get it out there. And he did all of that. Hi, my name is Frances Arflin and I live in the Northeast Florida area and I'm currently HR director. So I am the chief organizer for a group called Disrupt HR, the Jacksonville Florida chapter. It's a great platform. Disrupt HR overall is a really cool organization and Jacksonville has responded really well to our events. And so we were hosting an event last fall and Amos submitted an application to speak. And so we were reviewing all the applicants and very intrigued to see an application such as his. In fact, we noticed he was located in Hawaii. And once we made the connection and confirmed this person has some great information to share, they're willing to travel all the way here to Jacksonville to do it. We wanted to get him to our event. So that's how we met him. For the event that we hold, we do like to bring in dynamic speakers. We like to make sure that we have a variety of topics that are going to be covered and just really make the event something out of the ordinary rather than what a lot of HR professionals are used to. And so I was expecting, based on his interest and what I could see from his bio, that we'd have some of that, that he'd bring sort of a dynamic angle to our event. But more than anything, he brought that dynamic angle. But what I loved was that Amos was so authentic. I mean, to have someone who traveled as far as he did show up to our event, great presence, great personality. He was just a joy to have at our event as one of our speakers. And so I think he really stood out, energized the crowd. I mean, he just really did bring what we were hoping for to disrupt it and even more. Trust that what he's going to bring is going to be even more than his words. What he says, there's whatever the content may be. could tell that he was bringing it with a passion and in an authentic way, which to me, it kind of doesn't matter what the message is about. If someone really cares and they bring that to the table, then that message goes way farther than those folks who may not bring that.
