The interview

What first made you concerned about your dental health?

My name is Tiffany Caplan, and I live in Thousand Oaks. I started getting concerned about my dental health when my dentist kept bringing up, your pockets are getting deeper, like that's not good and like it's not getting any better. I was concerned with that and more, just understanding how important oral health is.

Why did you choose a holistic approach over traditional dentistry?

As a more holistic doctor myself, I understand more about understanding the root causes of the problems instead of just labeling a problem and trying to put a band-aid on it. I was definitely more interested in the approach of understanding why this is happening and how we can stop it from progressing.

What specific holistic techniques were used during your treatment?

She uses more holistic techniques to heal the mouth, like doing the oral detox and using things like laser and ozone and things that weren't just jumping into necessarily a big surgery. These things helped balance my mouth microbiome and fix the reasons why I was having these issues with the pockets in the first place.

How did this differ from the treatment your previous dentist offered?

My regular dentist had just told me to floss more and to use some peroxide gel and wanted me to get a mouth guard. That was pretty much all that was offered, and that's why it wasn't getting any better. It wasn't really identifying that I had some other issues going on.

What was the diagnostic process like with Dr. Moldovan?

Dr. Moldovan is very thorough in understanding why things are happening. I thought that was really the key part of right away getting better imaging and understanding a deeper level of infection patterns that a general dentist might not find. We did microbiome testing, things that people don't usually get run.

What results did you notice after completing your treatment?

I feel so much better. I was concerned purely with the pockets, but in the process, I actually noticed I got rid of the brain fog that I had been dealing with. My skin got clearer and I just feel healthier and happier and just more myself. I had no idea how much the issues in my mouth were affecting me on a global scale until they were gone.

How would you describe the office environment and staff?

They're just great with communication, very easy to get a hold of, great with scheduling, and working with my busy schedule. I think just everybody that I've interacted with has been really sweet and knowledgeable. I really appreciate just the team that she's built and Dr. Moldovan herself.

Frequently asked

Yes, Tiffany Caplan discovered that her oral issues were affecting her on a global scale. Once Dr. Moldovan treated the infection patterns in her mouth, Caplan noticed her brain fog disappeared and her skin became clearer.

What happens if traditional flossing isn't fixing deep gum pockets?

Tiffany Caplan found that her regular dentist's advice to just 'floss more' was a band-aid that didn't address the root cause. Dr. Moldovan used advanced imaging and microbiome testing to identify underlying infection patterns that required holistic intervention.

Is Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness good for busy professionals?

Dr. Moldovan is just very thorough, easy to talk to. She understands more the big picture. My name is Tiffany Caplan, and I live in Thousand Oaks. I started getting concerned about my dental health when my dentist kept bringing up, your pockets are getting deeper, like that's not good and like it's not getting any better. And so I was concerned with that and more, just understanding like how important oral health is. As a more holistic doctor myself, I understand more about understanding the root causes of the problems instead of just labeling a problem and trying to put a band-aid on it, understanding, hey, why is this happening? How can we stop it from progressing? How can we resolve it? So I was definitely more interested in that approach. And then also the fact that she uses more holistic techniques to heal the mouth, like doing the oral detox and using things like laser and ozone and things that weren't just jumping into like necessarily a big surgery or something that, you know, was gonna help. balance my mouth microbiome and gonna help fix the reasons why I was having these issues with the pockets in the first place. My regular dentist had just told me to floss more and to use some like peroxide gel and wanted me to like get a mouth guard. And that was pretty much all that was offered. And that's why it wasn't getting any better. It wasn't really identifying that I had some other issues going on. Dr. Moldovan is very thorough in understanding why things are happening. I thought that was really the key part of right away getting better imaging and understanding a deeper level of, these things, you you don't have the cavities or something that maybe a general dentist would find, but there's infection patterns and there's, you know, gotta be reasons for why this is progressing and let's try to understand it a little bit more, do we? Microbiome testing, things that people don't get run, was really interesting to me as a functional medicine doctor and just kind of understanding the deeper whys behind it. And also just the fact of going through it more holistically and getting to the root. I feel so much better actually going into this. I was just concerned purely with the fact that I had these pockets that weren't good and I wanted to resolve that. And in the process, I actually noticed I got rid of the brain fog that I had been dealing with. My skin got clearer and I just feel healthier and happier and just more myself. I had no idea, really how much the issues in my mouth were affecting me on a global scale until they were gone. Our mouth is not just our mouth in a bubble by itself. It's our whole being. It's connected to our nutrition. It's connected to our brain. It's connected to how everything else works in the body. It's really the window into things. And so I think she just comes at it from a different perspective than most other doctors and dentists, they don't look at it the same way. So I highly recommend her to give somebody answers and peace of mind and the right treatment for fixing the problem. They're just great with communication, very easy to get a hold of, great with scheduling, and working with my busy schedule. I think just everybody that I've interacted with has been really sweet and knowledgeable and I really appreciate just the team that she's built and Dr. Moldovan of course, herself.
