The interview
What is the community like at Atlas Assistants?
We have this group channel on Connecting. It helps other VAs with clients interact with each other, with help, for example, with help with specific softwares. What can they do? What kind of help they need? It's a really good budding community where in growth is really important.
What is your current role and background?
Hi, my name is Kenneth I'm an executive assistant for an operations manager for a digital law firm. I worked first as a project manager before I tried going to Atlas. I handled mostly medically inclined projects.
What challenges did you face before joining Atlas?
Some of the hurdles that I experienced were trying to adapt to new softwares, to new specific tasks which was really hard, but it took me a while.
How did the training program help you?
They did a thorough two-day training program which really helped me prepare for being a virtual assistant for any type of client, which is really great. During the training, they gave us lot of hands-off activities with my fellow VAs in training, which was really helpful, which made me more in depth in trying to collaborate with other people.
What was your experience with the application and HR process?
I had a lot of job offers before, but I really waited for Atlas even though the application process was lengthy. I saw their culture, I saw the videos that they had on their website, I talked with a lot of their HR during the whole process, and they were really accommodating, they really made it a fun experience, especially the tasks, projects, assignments, and stuff like that, which was really entertaining in a sense.
How does your client treat you in your current placement?
From the start, my client didn't treat me as a VA. She treated me like a member of the team, a real anchor, per se, like one of the hands of an octopus that will just eventually grow back if ever it gets cut off. Mistakes happen, and she really made me feel that it's okay to make mistakes. Since we're all a team, there is nothing permanent. Everything is possible.
Why should others choose Atlas Assistants?
Choose Atlas. They're really fun, interactive, they give chances to all VAs. No one will get left behind because everybody has equal opportunities.
