The interview

What are your impressions of Debra Atkinson?

She's a walking Google source. She really amazes me with her ability to effortlessly and eloquently answer questions on so many topics. She has a great sense of humor and she shares vulnerable life moments with her audience and members. She's human, she's relatable, and this is why she attracts the group of women that she does.

Why did you choose the menopause fitness specialist course?

When I found out that Debra offered the menopause fitness specialist course, to me it was a no-brainer. I had been looking for that type of support and to actually have that certification for the clients that I wanted to train. This would be most beneficial for me to not only help myself, cause I am that woman, but to also pay it forward with the knowledge and the skills that I was going to learn through her program.

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining?

If you start comparing what Debra offers, you're going to come right back because you're going to see that the resources, the coaching—there is live coaching—it's unparalleled. What she provides you with in both the certification and business creation is unparalleled.

How did you feel after the Moab retreat?

I didn't even know to put this on a bucket list. When I saw and experienced it, I had to pinch myself to see if I was alive. It was a surreal experience. It did push me to my limits. I went with a little bit of a physical challenge—lower back—but I wasn't gonna let it hold me back. I think I'm still riding on the high.

Were you encouraged to go at your own pace during the retreat?

Most definitely. Safety was a priority. Something really interesting happened as I was deciding, do I want to go faster? Do I want to go slower? Comradery, care, and trust happened rather quickly with this group of women. If anybody had any hesitations or limitations because of the group's care and respect for each other, it instilled trust and then self-confidence.

Was the 90-day training plan valuable for you?

Most certainly. I'm not a hiker; I live in Atlanta, Georgia, so I had to figure out how to train effectively. With her 90-day training plan and her stronger program where you have two full body strength training sessions per week, that is enough to prepare you for success in this retreat.

What did you think of the small group setting?

I really appreciated the smaller group setting. I believe it lent very well to our group bonding closely, and the cool thing, we got more time with Debra! So it was really good.

What was your favorite part of the retreat?

The horseback riding was surreal. I'll just say that. It was amazing. And then meeting Debra. That was a highlight for me, meeting Debra in person. This retreat taught me that I am capable of running my own retreats.
