The interview

What was your situation prior to joining Vector Marketing?

Prior to Vector Marketing, I was a high school student working at my dad's business. I was looking for a job after high school, getting into college, and I was just looking for any opportunity at the time. I got a letter in the mail explaining the job description and I was interested because I was looking for work.

What was your financial and personal situation like when you started?

As an 18-year-old getting out of high school, I was just getting through life and trying to figure it out. After joining Vector, I experienced negativity from my family; they didn't understand what I was doing and wanted me to get a 'real job.' I told them to let me trust the process and figure it out on my own.

What made you decide to give the opportunity a try?

The person that interviewed me, Jeremy Blau, made the process very easy. He reassured me it was perfect for college students because I was stressing out at that time. I was willing to give it a try just because he believed in me.

Can you share a specific story about working with a customer?

I was doing a presentation for a couple who had a large Cutco block set passed down from a great-grandmother. They asked to buy a new block, but I told them they could return it to the company for a free replacement. They really enjoyed that honesty; I could have easily sold them a new set, but they trusted me and still buy from me to this day.

What surprised you most about the environment at Vector?

What surprised me is that the people here are so welcoming and provide a supportive environment. Whether you come from a negative or positive place, they accommodate you and want you to feel like part of the team. I've experienced that for the past four and a half years.

What makes Vector different from other jobs you've had?

It is super flexible. I was a college student all throughout my time at Vector and recently graduated last spring. The flexibility accommodated my priorities, with school being number one. I also like being independent; I can build my own business while getting a ton of resources from the company.

What is a specific skill you learned while working here?

A great skill I learned is the concept of networking. Vector allows me to grow that skill by talking to people I know, who then recommend me to others. I was even able to ask for specific networking contacts in fields I was studying, like physical therapy or business, to build a quality network.

Why have you stayed with Vector and turned it into a career?

The key factors are the people and the circle of influence. People like Evan Keller and Jeremy Blau show me the best experiences and are always willing to grow. I know if I put my full focus into this, I can get the best out of the experience because I can prioritize it as my own.

Speaker 0: Emily Jabaro, Anaheim, California. Perfect. Okay. Alright. Sounds good. So prior to vector marketing, I was a high school student working at my dad's business. I was looking for a job after high school, getting into college, and I was just looking for any opportunity at the time. I did get a letter in the mail from the company just basically explaining the job description. I was obviously interested because I was just looking for a job at the time. And once I started interviewing, I got accepted, and I officially got my first real job after high school, which was an exciting part for me. So financial situation, I as you can imagine, as a any 18 year old getting out of high school, it's just getting getting through life and just trying to figure it out. I definitely Oh, go ahead. Okay. Perfect. So after joining Vector, I did experience, you know, negativity from my family. They didn't really understand what I was doing at first and wanted me to get a, quote, unquote, real job. However, I was really into business. I wanted to go into something related into that field, and I knew that was the perfect opportunity for me to at least try it out and see how it went for me. I just told them to let me trust the process and let me figure it out on my own. Perfect. So what made me actually give it a try and see where it went for me was actually the very beginning. The person that interviewed me, is now my best friend, Jeremy Blau, he's in our San Diego hub offices. But, basically, he made it very easy for me for the interviewing process. I knew exactly what was going on. He reassured me it was perfect for college students because I was stressing out at that time. And so I was willing to at least give it a try just because he did believe in me. Oh. Oh. Hold on. That's a that's a great question. Can you give me an example, like, a more specific example? Because there's so many customer stories. Oh, I got a perfect one. I got a perfect one. Okay. So how would I start that off? Just okay. Perfect. I got that. So one of my favorite stories, I was doing a presentation with one of my customers, and they were with their spouse. They actually had a bigger block set that we have with the company. It was passed down to them from their great grandmother, and they asked me if they can get a new block to buy, and it was the same biggest block that we had. And I basically just told them, hey. You can actually return it to the company and get your replacement basically for free. And so they really enjoyed that because I could have easily said, yeah. Of course. Let's buy a new bigger set. But they trusted me, and they still buy from me till this day, which is really cool. So that customer retention of just providing the best service and giving them the best honesty and everything that they needed from there. So yeah. Oh, I think it's still muted. Oh, there we go. Perfect. What surprised me about Vector is the fact that the people here are so very welcoming. They wanna provide that right type of environment for you, that supportive environment. Whether you come from an a place where it is negative or it is positive, they try to accommodate to you to where they they want you to feel a part of the team. And I feel like for me, I've experienced that the past four and a half years of being at Vector. The people today, they they've provided that support, that environment that I've always wanted and a, basically, career that I wanted to go into. So it's it's just the best environment. I mean, I can assume from retail, so we're good. I can. Yeah. Oh, perfect. Yeah. I can answer that one. Okay. Did I freeze, or did you freeze, or are we both freezing? Is that on my end? Are we good? Perfect. Okay. So what makes Vector different than most jobs that I've noticed? I've actually noticed that it is super flexible. I, again, was a college student all throughout my time working at Vector, and I recently just graduated last year in in the spring, is definitely the flexibility, how it accommodated to my priorities, my classes, school being my number one priority, and after that was anything other other responsibilities that I had, but Vector was able to accommodate to what my priorities were. And so it was very helpful for me to graduate with what I graduated with and also still focusing on my business part time. So it made me feel more productive and more just excited for, like, what's next for me. So I something I've also noticed is the fact that I'm very independent. I prefer to be that way when it comes down to working. I like the fact that I can do what I need to do to build my own business, especially with a ton of support from the company. They basically give you resource upon resource upon resource, which I do appreciate. And so having that environment of being able to run that business that I can create, but also getting the proper resources is something that I've always looked for. And so I'm able to grow on my own potential, and, basically, there is no limit to that. Yep. Right. Oh, I got a great one. Okay. So a a great skill that I learned while working with Vector is the concept of networking. And the reason why I say networking is because I grew up with my father raising me to become the person that if you network with people, you get the most out of life. And so I always wanted to be my dad in that case. Feel like, hey, how does he do that? And I was I'm grateful that I'm in a position where Vector allows me to grow that skill. When I first got started, you know, I talked to people I knew first, and then they recommended me to more people. And I was able to speak with people specifically on who I wanted in my network. And I thought it was really cool because of what I was studying. I always said, hey, who do you know that and at the time was, hey, who do you know that's in physical therapy? Or who do you know that's in business that I can maybe even talk to? So I would say the past four years of doing that, I was I'm able to have a very qual quality network, which is something that I appreciate having right now till this day. Okay. How do how do I start that one? Just repeating it. Yeah. Perfect. Okay. So what's made me stay with Vector and turn this into a career for me? There's multiple factors, but the the, I would say, the key factors of me still being here today and continuing that way, one, for sure, the people. It's always great to know, like, your circle of influence and the people that I'm surrounded by are always willing to grow and to keep learning, and they're eager for that. And I have some really great examples of people that are doing that around me, especially Evan Keller, again, Jeremy Blau, like those people that really show me the best experiences of being with Vector. And I always say like, hey, how do I get to where you're at? And so it's made me excited for what's next for me in the business. And I know for a fact that if I put my full focus into this, I can get the best out of this experience because I'm able to prioritize this as something of, you know, my own and seeing where the opportunities could take me. So that's the one thing I'm really excited about. Yeah. I've I've definitely recommended a lot of friends and family to Vector just because it is an opportunity, again, where you are self accountable. You can create your your your dream goals. You're able to actually, can let me restart that one because I have it in mind, I just I know how I'm saying it. Okay. Perfect. So I've actually recommended people to Vector before, my friends, family members, people that I'm acquainted to. And the reason why is because Vector provides an opportunity for people to grow personally, professionally, and financially to any limit that they want to, actually no limit. And so it's an opportunity for them to build what they want to build with the support of the company. And that's what I, again, I appreciate about being with Vector is that I am the person I am today because of not only the people, but even the company. So that's why I do recommend Vector. Of course.
