David Christ, VP of Finance for North America at Bolle Brands, Inc., reports that Transition Staffing Group (TSG) has placed three of his current 13 staff members. Crist highlights their 9.9 out of 10 success rate in candidate matching, attributing this to their deep understanding of his management style and specific role requirements.

At a glance

Placement Success Rate
9.9 times out of 10
Current Team Impact
3 out of 13 staff members placed
Relationship Duration
Approximately 20 years
Currently on my staff, I have a staff of 13; three of those placements have come from TSG.
I would say 9.9 times out of 10 it works out just fine.
They're trying to get the business, but they don't take that personal touch where I would argue TSG takes that personal touch.

The interview

How does Transition Staffing Group handle the initial candidate screening and billing process?

If they have those candidates that they find that are solid and can stand on their own two feet, then I'll bring them in to actually have a conversation with them in the interview. They do a very easy job in terms of billing. All of that is very straightforward, whether it's on a temporary basis and/or a permanent basis. It is very seamless and very easy to work with the group there.

Who are you and what does your company do?

My name is David Christ. I'm currently the Vice President of Finance for North America for Bolle Brands, Inc. Bolle Brands, Inc. is a consumer product company focused on eyewear in the ski market, as well as goggles and helmets in the ski market as well. And we make year round sunglasses that allow you to live your life to the max.

How long have you worked with Shaun Enders and Transition Staffing Group?

I met Shaun Enders probably going back about 20 years. I've been in accounting and finance now for over 25 years. But then I've also just utilized Transition Staffing Group probably close to 20 years. I think they do a phenomenal market in terms of where their account placements are.

What is the current impact of TSG on your finance department?

Currently on my staff, I have a staff of 13. Three of those placements have come from TSG. So I've used them in the past, I've had multiple placements before, but I also actively use TSG now.

What makes their candidate matching process different from other agencies?

They do a very good job of understanding you as a person first. I feel like they understand my management style at the same time. And so as they are able to interview and meet candidates, they can both provide somewhat of my management style and the team that I like to form. They know me quite well at this point in time. They understand what those requirements are, what the 'nice to haves' are, and then basically relay that to the candidate in an effort to just make a seamless transition.

What range of roles can Transition Staffing Group fill for your team?

I think they fill this solid niche. When I speak about TSG, I speak to the fact that they can bring anyone on from accounts receivable or accounts payable—this can be temp or permanent—all the way up to that controller level. By understanding the environment and the requirements for that role, they have a solid and good feel for what those candidates might be interested in.

How does TSG compare to other recruiting firms you have used?

I feel like other firms are just sort of over-promised and under-delivered. They're trying to get the business, but they don't take that personal touch where I would argue TSG takes that personal touch.

Frequently asked

How does Transition Staffing Group compare to larger one-stop-shop recruiting firms?

David Christ notes that while many firms claim to be a one-stop shop, they often fail in the 'middle ground' of placements. He argues that TSG avoids the 'over-promise and under-deliver' trap by focusing on a personal touch and a deep understanding of the specific environment.

Can Transition Staffing Group handle both temporary and permanent hiring needs?

Yes, David Christ confirms that TSG makes the billing and placement process very easy and straightforward regardless of whether the role is on a temporary or permanent basis.

Do candidates from TSG have realistic expectations about the job?

According to David Christ, candidates do not arrive with misconceptions because TSG understands his requirements and 'nice to haves' so well that they relay an accurate picture to the candidate before they even interview.
