The interview
Why is HomeCareSales your go-to referral partner for agencies?
The reason why I have Homecare Sales as the go-to referral partner is because her strategy is very clear. It's structured and it produces positive outcomes. If you're going to invest in something, you want to know that you're going to get an ROI on it. And so far from all of our members, there's been nothing but positive feedback and helping increase the volume of sales and revenues for their agencies.
What are the biggest challenges you see with the 60+ agencies you work with?
The number one challenge is accountability with sales, consistency and activity, and then execution of actually getting the right things to say in order to gain sales. Home Care Sales has a very structured program with scripting and consistent education as well as built in accountability pieces.
How did you first meet Melanie Stover?
I ran into Melanie at a conference, I believe it was the private duty conference in Vegas. We were both speaking and she spoke before I did. That was my first exposure to her and she's fun on stage, very energetic, captivating. I told myself I need to introduce myself and get to know this person.
What makes her expertise in the home care continuum unique?
Her time being involved with hospice, home health, and home care just speaks volumes because she's been able to work with franchises, independents, large and small. She understands all three very well and sees the overlap, which creates this nice, large mesh network for her to be able to connect people as referral partners to each other throughout the country.
What is it like to work with Melanie in a professional setting?
Mel's fun. She's high energy. She engages with everybody. She's very approachable. And the thing is, she's also a connector. I've been to conferences with her where she's made several introductions to folks who have now become part of my network. This is a lot of value that she brings.
What has been the result of bringing Melanie to your Home Care CEO Forum meetings?
I brought Melanie out to some of our in-person meetings and she's actually met with several of my groups. All of them have liked the presentations and the exercises she brings and it sparks discussion. We have several members who are under her programs right now, just due to that experience and understanding what she has to offer and the amount of knowledge she brings based around sales and structuring it.
