The interview

What was your mindset and what were you struggling with before attending?

I had a lot of trepidation and nervousness around attending but I also knew I had a number of areas that I struggled with, one being forgiving myself for decisions I had made or not loving myself the way I deserved or arguing with my wife or kids for reasons that I can't even recall.

How would you describe your life and thinking style before the program?

I would say that my life was often lived in beta. I think that I was analytically thinking through all problems even though I, at the core, live in Theta, live with my heart and make my best decisions with my heart. I got away from that and I think I found that the time in the eggs or pods were extremely valuable to recenter and refocus on that wonderful feeling I get in making important decisions.

What specific aspects of the program did you benefit from the most?

One was just the self journey, the self reflection, realizing that the challenges I have been struggling with and finding answers to those in a short period of time. Secondly, having a guide to play back what you're saying out loud after you spend 60 or 90 minutes in the dark in a small capsule-like device.

How do you plan to use what you learned moving forward?

I'm most excited about refining my meditation practice to align to a lot of the areas of focus from 40 Years of Zen. It put it in really digestible comprehensible format that allowed me to kind of move through a lot of roadblocks that I was facing in my life. It provides an organized manner to free up space in your brain for the next chapter of life, whether that be a book or a second career.

What is your biggest takeaway from the experience?

The biggest takeaway would be is the first that came to mind was I am not responsible for tearing down her brick walls, I am not responsible for others misunderstandings and maybe finally coming back to at least my favorite line thus far is I see and love myself exactly as I am.

Why would you recommend 40 Years of Zen to others?

I recommend it primarily to get uninterrupted 40 plus hours of time to yourself to really think about your role on this planet. It is a phenomenal way to capture a lot of quick wins but also getting the tools to free up the space on a recurring basis so that you can focus on the things that matter in your life.

My name is Sean Torcasi and I attended 40 Years of Zen six months ago, I had a lot of trepidation and nervousness around attending but I also knew I had a number of areas that I struggled with, one being forgiving myself for decisions I had made or not loving myself the way I deserved or arguing with my wife or kids for reasons that I can't even recall, I took the leap of faith and attended and felt absolutely great about the decision and the course was everything it lived up to be and more and the guide and the support system and the food and everything was absolutely spot on and tremendous and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Before attending 40 Years of Zen, I would say that my life was often lived in beta and for those 40 Years of Zener's they'll reference that I think that I was analytically thinking through all problems even though I, at the core live in Theta live with my heart and make my decisions, my best decisions with my heart and I got away from that and I think I found that the time in the eggs or pods however you want to refer to them were ones that were extremely valuable to can recenter and refocus on that wonderful feeling I get in making important decisions and how everything comes back to love really and connection. What I enjoyed and really benefited the most from the program was two things. One was just the self journey, the self reflection, realizing that the challenges I have been struggling with and finding answers to those in a short period of time and then secondly, having a guide, right? Having someone to at least play back what you're saying out loud after you spend 60 or 90 minutes in the dark in a small capsule like device. Moving forward, I'm most excited about refining my meditation practice to align to a lot of the areas of focus from 40 Years of Zen. It put it in really digestible comprehensible format that allowed me to kind of move through a lot of roadblocks that I was facing in my life. The other reason maybe equally or more important is that in order to go to the next stage of my life and the next chapter whether that be a book whether that be exploration in a second career is going to need to have not just confidence I think most of us can find that on our own but really an organized manner to free up space in your brain. I think it's absolutely powerful the tools they gave us and the ways and so, but you got to keep doing the work. The biggest takeaway would be is the first that came to mind was I am not responsible for tearing down her brick walls, I am not responsible for others misunderstandings and maybe finally coming back to at least my favorite line thus far is I see and love myself exactly as I am. I recommend 40 Years of Zen to others primarily to get uninterrupted 40 plus hours of time to yourself to really think about your role on this planet or whatever planet you live on, I think 40 Years of Zen is a phenomenal way to capture a lot of quick wins but also getting the tools to free up the space on a recurring basis so that you can focus on the things that matter in your life.
