The interview

Can you introduce yourself and your business?

My name is Carla Amthor and I'm from Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada. I have a home care agency focused on caring. I am the president and we are entering our 31st year.

What was the state of your business before working with Brave Thinking Institute?

Before working with BTI and attending the Hidden Laws of Leadership, my company actually was stagnant. We had stayed at an average of a million gross revenue for 13 years. I believed that I couldn't grow because we would gain a new client, but of course we would lose clients as they moved on to a better place. I had a limiting belief that that was the best that we could achieve.

What made you decide to attend the Hidden Laws of Leadership program?

I'm kind of an all in kind of person. As I started working with Brave Thinking Institute on other levels, every level of study that I was entering into was changing things for me in all of my quadrants while resulting in exceptional growth patterns. When the opportunity for Concord Conversations and then Hidden Laws came up, it was just a no brainer to say this is something else that I need to add to my repertoire.

Did you have any hesitations about the program?

The hesitation that I might have had of attending Hidden Laws is always the common hour thinking of what's the cost? And I have learned over the years of working with Brave Thinking Institute that there's two different costs to consider. It's not what is it going to cost me to attend. It's what's it going to cost me not to attend.

What had you tried in the past to grow your business?

I tried the Lone Ranger syndrome, where I knew what I wanted to accomplish, I had goals and I was working towards them. And it worked—I had a successful business—but it didn't work at the level that I wanted to achieve. I didn't have the capability to develop a vision of what it could look like beyond my consistent million dollars.

What was the most significant result you experienced during the training?

My first just absolutely stratospheric leap of growth while I was attending Hidden Laws, a four-day leadership, my business grew by $700,000 in those four days. I think it was the lifting of the veil, or just absolutely leaning into the power of possibility of what could happen.

What are you doing differently now in your leadership role?

I believe the things that I'm doing differently now is my level of engagement with my team. I have about 80 employees and the things that we have achieved as a company would not have happened but for Brave Thinking Institute and things like Hidden Laws of Leadership.

Frequently asked

What is the cost of attending Hidden Laws of Leadership?

Carla Amthor initially hesitated due to 'common hour thinking' regarding the upfront dollar cost. However, she shifted her perspective to consider the cost of not attending, eventually viewing the programs as a regular, necessary part of her professional routine.

Can a business grow if it naturally loses clients frequently?

Carla believed her home care agency was capped at $1 million because clients would pass away, but Brave Thinking Institute helped her move beyond this limiting belief. She realized she could achieve a higher level of service and growth despite the nature of her industry.

How does Brave Thinking Institute affect team management?

Carla reports a significantly improved level of engagement with her team of approximately 80 employees. She states that the achievements they have reached as a company would not have happened without the principles learned at the Institute.

Hello, my name is Carla Amthor and I'm from Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada. I have a home care agency focused on caring. I am the president and and we are entering our 31st year and I have attended a combination of Conquer Conversations and Hidden Laws of Leadership an estimated seven times at this point. Before working with BTI and attending the Hidden Laws of Leadership, my company actually was stagnant. We had stayed at an average of a million gross revenue for 13 years. And because of the nature of the work that we do, our clients come to us at the end of their life and our anticipation is they're going to pass away. I believed that I couldn't grow because we would gain a new client, but of course we would lose clients as they moved on to a better place. So I was very happy at a million dollars and I had a limiting belief that that was the best that we could achieve. And I was looking for greater things, a higher level of service. And by attending, working with BTI and attending Hidden Laws, it opened up a lot of doors and windows. And one of them is the windows for me to see everything. The thing about the Hidden Laws that put into a position of saying "yes" was I'm kind of an all in kind of person. And as I started working with Brave Thinking Institute on other levels beyond just Concord Conversations and Hidden Laws, every level of study that I was entering into was changing things for me in all of my quadrants while as resulting in exceptional growth patterns that I could only attach to the principles that I was learning and applying them. So when the opportunity for Concord Conversations initially and then Hidden Laws came up, for me, actually it was just a no brainer to say this is something else that I need to add to my repertoire. The hesitation that I might have had of attending Hidden Laws is always the common hour thinking of what's the cost? And I have learned over the years of working with Brave Thinking Institute that there's two different costs to consider. It's not what is it going to cost me to attend. It's what's it going to cost me not to attend. And once I was able to get over that hurdle of the initial, I could say common hour, thinking of cost as in upfront dollars. It just has become part of my routine of something that I attend on a regular, repeated basis. The things that I've tried in the past. The Lone Ranger syndrome, where I knew what I wanted to accomplish, I had goals and I was working towards them. And it worked. I had a successful business, but it didn't work at the level that I wanted to achieve. And even in the realm of being able to develop a vision of what it could look like beyond my consistent million dollars, I didn't have that capability. And so moving beyond, I knew how to do what I needed to do and get the help through all of the other trainings, that's what's worked for me. One of the things that was really interesting was being in the study and actually being in the center of energy that is in Concord, and with these transcendental leaders. My first just absolutely stratospheric leap of growth while I was attending Hidden Laws, a four-day leadership, my business grew by $700,000 in those four days. So was it the being in the energy? Was it being in the mindset? Was it the lifting of the veil, or just absolutely leaning into the power of possibility of what could happen? I think the thing that surprised me the most about Hidden Laws was the level of commitment to bringing us to this hallowed place. Being able to share history at a level that it was current and made it be something that I wanted to be able to emulate and replicate. I believe the things that I'm doing differently now is my level of engagement with my team. I have about 80 employees the things that we have achieved as a company would not have happened but for Brave Thinking Institute and things like Hidden Laws of Leadership. I would recommend attending Hidden Laws of Leadership to anyone who has a dream, who wants to take it to another level, whether it's your individual desires for more or it's your purpose that you want to take to the next level.
