The interview

What compelled you to watch Elliott Feldman Law Group's online estate planning workshop?

I left my corporate job six months ago and hired a financial planner for my 401Ks and pensions. When I realized how much there was in aggregate, I realized I had no idea what a trust was or how to get one. I thought it would be expensive, but I saw the webinar on my feed and learned a ton.

Was there an 'aha moment' during the workshop where something really clicked for you?

Yes, when Elliot said that the cost of probate would probably exceed $10,000, that clicked for me. The price to hire the firm versus that $10,000 plus was a no-brainer. I pay it now and it's substantially less and it comes out of my money instead of my kids' money.

What was your primary motivation for completing the estate plan?

I didn't want my kids to have to go through probate. Neither one of them have the time or inclination to go through those hoops and they would lose more money that route. I decided it was the best gift I could give them to set everything up so it was easy for them while they are grieving.

What did you like best about working with the Elliott Feldman Law Group team?

I liked knowing things were being taken care of and how thorough everyone was. They walked me through every step and made sure I had the forms, language, and background I needed to set up bank accounts and insurance policies. It was really kind of idiot proof.

What would you say to someone who is hesitant about attending a workshop or scheduling a call?

Just do it. There really isn't an obligation. You learn and you'll know in your gut whether it's something you need. Don't worry about taking advantage of a free offer; it's educational and designed to make you comfortable before you sign on a dotted line.
