The interview
What specific health transformations have you experienced recently?
I went from an 8.1 in April A1C to a 5.7 just three weeks ago and lost about 35 pounds. It's the lifestyle change that incorporates into Dr. Schacter's approach to joint health, and I think that's springboarding everything into healing and repair.
What is your professional background and where are you located?
My name is Toby Arnold. I live in Seymour, Texas, an hour west of Wichita Falls, and I work for a John Deere dealership as a field technician.
What led you to seek treatment at Pinnacle Integrative?
I figured out that I was overweight, and my A1C was really high at 8.1 at 52 years old. I'd had a previous shoulder surgery repair for labrum, rotator cuff, bicep tendon and some bone spurs. The ortho said I'd have about five years before I needed a replacement, and this is the third year after surgery. I was waking up in the middle of the night with shoulder pain.
What treatments did you receive and why did you say 'yes' to them?
I've done one platelet and one bone marrow treatment. I said yes because I didn't want another surgery or a shoulder replacement. After watching the webinar with Dr. Schacter and seeing testimonials on YouTube, I thought it was worth the shot.
Were there any obstacles that almost prevented you from joining the program?
If there was one thing that would prevent me, it would perhaps have been the cost. It costs a lot, yes, but can you afford not to do it? I couldn't afford not to take this chance.
What other treatments had you tried previously that failed?
The things that I tried in the past that did not work were physical therapy, Biofreeze, and other pain relievers. I was on a pretty heavy regimen of ibuprofen and Tylenol three to four times a day, but it was just masking it.
What surprised you most about working with the Pinnacle team?
They made me feel like I was just part of their team. Being able to just personally reach out to Dr. Schacter and the whole office—the overall personal feel that you get, and the care. They listen.
How has your daily life changed since the treatment?
My wife is a hugger, and I couldn't hold her with my left arm for less than a minute without shooting pain. Now, I've been able to allow her to go to sleep right there while holding her. Also, at work, I'm able to do my job a whole lot more efficiently now. I still have a little pain, but it's nothing of a severe, uncomfortable level.
Frequently asked
Is Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedic Sports and Medicine worth the cost?
Toby Arnold admitted that while the program 'costs a lot,' he ultimately decided he couldn't afford not to take the chance to avoid surgery. He found the investment worthwhile because it provided a long-term solution rather than just masking pain with medication.
Can regenerative medicine help with chronic shoulder pain after surgery?
Yes, Toby Arnold sought treatment three years after a major shoulder surgery when he began waking up with night pain. After one platelet and one bone marrow treatment at Pinnacle, he reported that life has been 'a lot better' and his pain is no longer at a severe level.
What is the patient experience like at Pinnacle Integrative?
Toby Arnold highlighted the personal care, noting that the staff made him feel like 'part of their team.' He specifically valued the ability to personally reach out to Dr. Schacter and felt that the office truly listened to his concerns.
