I have never in my life had anybody tell me how much my time is worth. And that's because of Vector.
I couldn't find another opportunity for a college student to be able to make more than their parents make while they're in their dorm room.
Vector is the ultimate vehicle backing an ultimate product that allows you to go into these high class environments and truly change who you associate yourself with.

The interview

What was your situation before starting with Vector Marketing?

I was fresh out of high school during the COVID year. I was applying to different places all over the place to pay for school, but nobody would give me an interview. I ended up being able to start selling knives after seeing my friend Colin Schofield posting about the money he was making and the trips he was taking.

How did your family react to you starting this sales role?

My family was really supportive. They had no clue what Cutco or Vector was, but they trusted me and wanted me to achieve. There were family friends who said 'you don't want your son doing some sales job,' but my dad told me to just do it, make money, and have fun.

What was your favorite experience with a customer?

My favorite story was selling my first Cutco kitchen at a women's show in New York. I was educating a lady on the guarantee and the quality of the flatware and cookware. She told me she had worked her whole life and never had nice stuff, and she was excited to have something that would stay in her family forever.

What surprised you most about the opportunity?

I was surprised by the amount of income you could make as a college kid from your dorm room. I was also surprised by the community of hard-working college kids and the networking. I was thankful for my coach, Rob Brandt, and the All American Academy where we competed for scholarships.

How did Vector affect your college experience and career trajectory?

There was never a time at school where I couldn't do something because it cost too much. It steered my career trajectory because I've never had anyone tell me how much my time is worth. It taught me networking skills that allowed me to build a client base of over 400 customers in Scarsdale and Fairfield County, even though I'm from a small town in Tennessee.

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining?

I would say that Vector is the ultimate vehicle to take people where they want to be. In four years, I sold over $500,000 worth of knives, traveled to over 10 countries on four continents, and gained skills that far outweigh any dollar earned. It allows you to go into high-class environments and change who you understand yourself to be.

Full transcript

Speaker 0: Yeah. My name is Raymond Knuckles. I'm from Greenville, Tennessee. Before I started working with Vector, I was fresh out of high school, so it was COVID year whenever I started. So we had been out of class for a few months, and I figured I was gonna pay for school. So I was applying to different places all over the place. Nobody would give me an interview, but, ended up being able to start selling knives. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 0: For sure. Yeah. So I I went to Williams College in Massachusetts to go play football and, my now best friend, his name is Colin Schofield, he was in that same, class that we were heading in to go there. We had joined a Snapchat group chat together, so we were all talking in there. And he started posting on his Snapchat story all the money he was making. He was getting TVs and stuff from this knife company and spent a bunch of time on a boat and trips like that. So I was like, dude, what are you doing? I need to make some money. So he introduced me to it. Then Brandon Phillips gave me a call and we opt into a interview and off the races from there. My family was really supportive. They had no clue what Cutco was. They had no clue what Vector was. They had no clue about anything like that. But they trusted me. They wanted me to achieve and be the best that I could be. So they were really encouraging for me to work hard. They wanted me to work hard regardless of what it was. So I didn't experience a bunch of negativity. Sure, there were definitely family friends, family friends that said, you don't want your son doing that. That's not a you don't want your son doing some sales job. You need something better than that. But my dad was very staid and stoic and saying, Raymond, you need to just do that, dude. You're crushing it. Enjoy it. Make fun. Make money. Have fun. Meet people. My friend posted all the stuff he was doing and then I got my first paycheck and I was like, okay, I can't believe it. I've never had this much money in my account ever. So that was, that was really exciting. I think my favorite story with a customer was the first time I ever sold a Cutco kitchen. I was behind the booth and the lady walked up. We were at a women's show up in New York and she saw what we were doing and I was actually talking to her friend. I was telling her friend walking her through the guarantee, educating her on the pots and pans, the knobs, the flatware, really illustrating that you're never going to replace any of this ever again. And she overheard what I was telling her friend and she said, So tell me more about this. Tell me about this package of how all this fits together. And got to walk through how these pieces fit together, how they play. And inevitably, she said that, you know, I've worked my whole life and I've never had nice stuff, and it really sounds awesome to have something great that's going to be in my family for the rest of time. It's gonna be in my family forever. And she was excited about that. So we helped her get her to go kitchen. For sure. I was surprised with one, the amount of income that you could make as a college kid from your dorm room. That was insane to me. And I'm so incredibly thankful and blessed with that opportunity. And my best friends to this day are a lot of people that sold Coco. And I was really surprised at the amount of college kids that were working really hard, making a ton of money, meeting awesome people, networking in the great rooms. And I was very thankful for Rob Brandt, who was my coach. He had an All American Academy and still does, where it was all of the college students that were gunning after scholarships, and we got to basically run with each other. So I got to spend time with Ben Cooper, Nine Predator, AJ Oviuche, Zane Baughmaster, Bryson Labarge. And I'm definitely leaving names out, but all people that were, you know, consistently top five, top 10 scholarship winners. So it was really great to be a part of such an awesome group. For sure. For sure. So there was never a time at school where I couldn't do something because it cost too much. So my friends had to report to a job at a certain time. They had to show up and do this and make, you know, an hourly wage. I have never in my life had anybody tell me how much my time is worth. And that's because of Vector. That steered me in the career trajectory of I'm going to do something now where no one's going to tell me how much my time's worth, how much my effort, my energy is worth. So with Vector, it truly gives you the opportunity to be as valuable as you believe you can be. For sure. I think definitely with Vector, it's networking in the top communities. You know, I'm from Greenville, Tennessee. It's the it's the armpit of the state, like to say. The average income in Greenville is $24,000 a year depending on which study you look at. Sometimes it's as low as 19. With Vector, I was able to network and with awesome people and and have confidence to ask big questions and ask for introductions and ended up having my largest client base, over 400 customers just in Scarsdale and Fairfield County outside of New York City from little old Greenville, Tennessee. You know, I never would have had the confidence or even the knowledge of how to network into these rooms with these people that live completely different lives to the ones that I was accustomed to growing up with. So Vector taught me the skill of networking. Networking to the point where the role I have now coming out of school was I was a five star recruit and I was at people were I never had to go through a traditional interview process with any of the offers that I had. And with the multiple offers that I had, they were doing things to essentially entice me to come there. With the company I'm with now, they flew me down to San Antonio and brought me back home for all of their various different events that they had. And that's not anything that any of my other peers got to experience. So that all came because I did a Cutco demo for my now mentor's wife. Speaker 1: So they're working to do a mentor. Speaker 0: For sure. I couldn't find, and I'd love if somebody would show me, another opportunity for a college student to be able to make more than their parents make while they're in their dorm room. I stayed with Cutco for the four years that I was in college because I was able to get into amazing rooms, make amazing income, travel to lots of different places, travel, be in more countries than my entire family's ever been So that's truly something that I would love. If you can show me another company, great. But I can't imagine another company that is so dedicated to the development and understands that they want to help their, you know, their the people that work with Vector, the little business owners that work with Vector achieve even better things. They want them to gain skills and go on to the next level, whatever their their next sites are. So I can't imagine another job like that throughout college. If somebody was on the fence about working at Vector? I would say that God puts people in positions for a reason. You know, we definitely have the stories of the lights turning off and the water being cold in the shower and sleeping in the living room so that we can all stay warm. Fast forward four years later, four years spending time with Vector, being able to sell over $500,000 worth of knives, travel to over 10 different countries on four different continents, being able to take trips whenever, have complete income flexibility and freedom, being able to save and invest money, being able to grow skills that far outweigh any dollar that I could have ever earned, I don't understand how you couldn't work at Vector. Vector is the ultimate vehicle to take people where they want to be. Whether it's you want to be able to go through the drive through and actually order for yourself and not ask your friends to do it or pick up the phone and order pizza, or you want to be able to walk into, the building of a CEO of Fortune 500 company and say who you are with confidence. You get that through experience. Vectra is the ultimate vehicle backing an ultimate product that allows you to go into these high class environments and truly change who you associate yourself with and even who you understand yourself to be. Vectra is the perfect way for you to level up. For sure. I definitely can you can you add in my manager's name, Brandon Phillips? Brandon, b r a n d o n, Phillips, p h I l l I p s. And my coach Rob Brandt, r o b b r a n d t. Speaker 1: And I Speaker 0: have another code. Oh, yeah. Yes. Yes. On subtitles. Yes. So two more codes. So Luciano, l u c I a n o, Pataki, p a t a k I, and Liz Pataki as well. So same last name, first name Liz. Speaker 1: Yeah. I'd love if you added those in and said, you know, Raymond's mentors and coaches, Speaker 0: anybody else? Yeah. Mean, I guess I mentioned all the guys that I Speaker 1: that I ran with. So, Speaker 0: Yeah. For sure. Where will this be at? For sure. Will you, like could you will they notify me when it's uploaded? Speaker 1: Do you work with Vector? Speaker 0: How long have been with ShareOne? Is this fresh out of school, or how did you Speaker 1: Nice. Where do you go? Oh, that's awesome. Great. Y'all get a bunch of snow not long ago. Yeah. Speaker 0: I was down in Tampa, I guess it was a few weeks ago and it was like 30 degrees. And I was like, well, don't know to believe in the 30 degree weather. Speaker 1: That's all. Nice. And what do you want Speaker 0: to do after school? What's your plan? Yeah. You got a pretty cool gig. Have you heard crazy stories from Kato? Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm Speaker 0: 22. So I graduated in May of last year. And yeah, it was literally from the second I graduated high school, it seemed like a couple of weeks and I was slinging blades, meeting people, having fun. It was a crazy thing. Have you reached out? Are you in charge of like reaching out to people? Because I found this that I got emails from you and I'm so sorry that I missed them. I don't have notifications. Well, I've definitely got some recommendations for some people that would, that have like, I sold a little bit over 500,000, but I've got friends that sold one point two, one point five, like you should. Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaker 0: I've I've got two right now. I've I've I've Speaker 1: there's no shot. I'm gonna eat Speaker 0: this for sure. I'm sorry. I'm terrible with eating. Definitely Ben Cooper. If they haven't interviewed Ben Cooper yet, he's as he is the greatest college rep of all time. I think he's still in grad school now, but he literally was number one for the All American a bunch of times. Like my highest finish was number two, and that was my last semester. Like, he's the GOAT. He's the greatest. And then Nyan Predator is also really, really amazing. So Nyan Predator. And then the last one is Zane. And I don't know how to spell his last name, but it's like Baumer math. Yeah. Alright. I'll make sure my Zens aren't in. Speaker 1: Do you use Zens? Speaker 0: Gosh. Do you know about these things? Speaker 1: It's the best thing ever. Speaker 0: No. It's awesome. It just makes your brain just, like, work better. It's crazy. Or, like, is awesome. Oh, yeah. Nicotine's a great thing. If there's no smoking carcinogens, it's awesome. But you should be smiling in the camera.
