The interview

Who are you and what was your life like before starting this program?

I'm Ivy and I'm from Texas. Before working with Dr. Mallick and Zayba and the Wellness Partners, I was an analyst for an insurance company, so I sat primarily at a desk. I had become a new mother with a three year old and a one year old. I typically had symptoms of anxiety and depression that were hereditary, and overall just kind of not feeling great. There was a lot of bloating and a lot of sleepless nights.

What specific health challenges were you facing?

I wasn't where I should be. I was overweight, unhappy, and just not confident. I didn't want my husband to see me. It was just not a good place. Everything just, kind of, sort of, broke apart, and I actually wound up sobbing my eyes out in Dr. Mallick's office.

Why did you choose this natural approach over traditional medication?

In order to stay off of medication—the anti-anxiety, the antidepressants, and weight loss drugs like Ozempic—I didn't want any of that because I don't like the side effects. I knew overall that if I had proper sleep, a good diet and exercise, I typically could stay off of any medication, and we were getting to that breaking point where that was going to have to happen.

What had you tried in the past that didn't work?

A lot of things that I've tried in the past have been diet and exercise. A lot of the diets that I had gone through—Paleo, Whole 30, intermittent fasting—the scale never changed and the clothes never changed. They tell you diet and exercise, but they don't really tell you how.

How did the Wellness Partners approach differ from those past attempts?

The Wellness Partners really helped with the understanding, the education, and the overall coaching and mentoring. Having that community to help keep you accountable and other people that are struggling really helped. It's not a fad diet; it's something I can maintain because the education allows me to go to a restaurant and know what modifications to ask for.

When did you first notice the program was working?

I was hesitant to pull the trigger, but I knew the program was working by about week two. By week two I already had more energy and I wasn't feeling the 3pm crashes where I wanted to go take a nap or needed to down an energy drink.

What has been the biggest impact on your family life?

I didn't like where we were at, sitting on the couch, having my children in front of a TV consistently. Now we can take them outside, we can take them for a walk, we can go to the backyard and play soccer. We're a family—not just zoned out TV watchers. All of that changed in just three weeks.

Frequently asked

Will this wellness program work if other diets like Paleo or Keto failed?

Ivy Lee found success because this program provided the specific 'how' and education that fad diets lacked. She noted that unlike intermittent fasting or keto, this was a maintainable lifestyle that allowed her to eat out at restaurants with confidence.

How long does it take to see results with Wellness Lifestyle Partners?

Ivy Lee reported knowing the program was working by week two when her energy levels increased. By week three, she experienced a total shift in her physical feelings and family dynamics.

Can you improve energy and mood without using weight loss drugs or medication?

Ivy Lee specifically chose this program to stay off anti-anxiety medication and drugs like Ozempic. She found that the combination of diet, sleep education, and community support resolved her symptoms naturally.

I have recommended Mallick and Zayba to friends and family, right? My husband, obviously, has been along for the ride. And it's mostly because I know that these changes are healthy. It's not a fad diet. It's not something that's going to be, three months in and then I give it up like intermittent fasting or keto. Like, this is something that I can maintain. And not only can I maintain it, but the outline and the education around it allows me to go out and eat dinner with friends or with family. Like, we can go to a restaurant and I know already - either by looking at the menu ahead of time or just based on the education - what modifications I might want to ask for or even look at, like, on the menu. So, it really is a lifestyle. it genuinely is. Being able to be back to where I was - I was a dancer for 19 years, I played softball for seven years, I did Olympic lifting before we got married, like, four years ago. I'm used to being active and being in that state of... I'll call it "survival," is not who I am as a person. I'm normally an active person. I have to be busy, I have to maintain things. I didn't like where we were at, sitting on the couch, having my children in front of a TV consistently when all they wanted was attention or play or any of those things. And so now we can take them outside, we can take them for a walk, we can take them to the park, we can go to the back backyard and play soccer. We're a family. Like, a family. Not just zoned out TV watchers. And that meant a whole lot to me. All of that changed in just three weeks. it was that kind of a result, that kind of a feeling, that kind of a goal that I was looking for. Never mind what the number on the scale was showing, that meant the most. Hey, I'm Ivy and I'm from Texas. So, before working with Dr. Mallick and Zayba and the Wellness Partners, I was an analyst for an insurance company. So I sat primarily at a desk. I had become a new mother. I have a three year old and a one year old. Trying to get body back, everything else back. I typically had symptoms of anxiety, depression that were not related to postpartum. Those were hereditary. And overall, just kind of not feeling great. There was a lot of bloating. There was a lot of sleepless nights, obviously, with children. It was really hard to go back to sleep once my children woke up. I wasn't where I should be. Overweight, unhappy - just not confident. I didn't want my husband to see me. It was just not a good place. So, in order to stay off of medication - the anti-anxiety, the antidepressants, everybody's heard about Ozempic and all the other weight loss drugs - I didn't want any of that. Mostly because I don't like the side effects that come with them. But I also knew overall that if I had proper sleep, a good diet and exercise, I typically could stay off of any medication and that was just something that I knew, right? Since I've had anxiety and depression my entire life. And we were getting to that breaking point where that was going to have to happen. My husband told me that I seemed unhappy. I seemed down. I really was. I didn't like the way I looked, I didn't like the way my clothes felt, I wasn't feeling confident at work. Everything just, kind of, sort of, broke apart, and I actually wound up sobbing my eyes out in Dr. Mallick's office. Yeah, so a lot of things that I've tried in the past, of course, have been diet, exercise. A lot of the diets that I had gone through - Paleo, Whole 30, intermittent fasting - The scale never changed. The clothes never changed. They tell you diet, exercise, but they don't really tell you how. And so the Wellness Partners really helped with that, helped with the understanding, helped with the education and the overall coaching and mentoring, right? Having that community to help keep you accountable and other people that are struggling, it really helped. I was hesitant to pull the trigger, even though my husband was on board with it because I wasn't sure if it would work. I know the program is working and we knew that by about week two. And by week two I already had more energy and I wasn't feeling the 3pm crashes where I wanted to go take a nap or needed to down any kind of an energy drink, so it's been good.
