Chad and Rene Satterfield credit Advanced Longevity with saving Chad’s life after a 30-minute full-body scan detected stage one pancreatic cancer. His oncologist noted the cancer was caught before it could spread or show symptoms. This proactive screening allowed for immediate surgical intervention and provided a baseline for their long-term health optimization.

The interview

What first attracted you to Advanced Longevity?

I had cancer back when I was 29 and so my wife knows about that and she saw the advertisements about doing the full body scans. She had been looking at it for, I would say, a bit of a year. That's what kind of caught our attention.

Did you have any hesitations before booking the appointment?

The cost initially, then there was a sale that went on for a couple, which then caught her attention. We immediately booked that day when she saw the sale. When you reach your fifties, it's better to be safe than sorry. This helps confront things before they get bad.

What was the experience of the scan itself like?

We both got the full body scan and we were in and out of there in half an hour. They were very informative, knew what all the scores were going to mean, and explained all of that to us.

What were the specific results of your scan?

It turns out that I have pancreatic cancer, but it was caught so early because of the scan. It's allowed me to tackle this upfront. I've already been through surgery once. I may have to go through a second surgery, but it was caught like in stage one.

What did your medical team say about these findings?

His oncologist literally said he's never seen it caught this early, and typically, pancreatic cancer is spread by the time you find it or have symptoms and they caught it before it had spread. We feel like it has the best possible outcome given the circumstances.

How has this impacted your view on proactive healthcare?

I think this has made us more aware of trying to be proactive in our health going forward, especially at our age, trying to catch stuff early enough that you don't have to wait for symptoms to arise. You can try to confront stuff in advance.

Has your experience influenced others around you?

The company that I work for even went in and set up a corporate account so that an offer to pay for half the cost for any of the employees. They offered that to employee spouses as well because of the fact that we felt so strongly about it saving his life.

Frequently asked

Is the cost of a full-body scan worth it if insurance doesn't cover it?

Chad and Rene Satterfield initially hesitated due to cost, but booked immediately during a sale. They concluded that the service is 'priceless' because it fills the void insurance leaves, ultimately saving Chad's life by catching cancer early.

How long does an Advanced Longevity full-body scan take?

According to Rene Satterfield, the entire process was efficient, stating they were 'in and out of there in half an hour' for their scans.

Can a scan really find cancer before you feel sick?

Yes; Chad's oncologist confirmed his pancreatic cancer was caught at stage one before it spread. Rene noted that typically this type of cancer is only found once symptoms arise, at which point it is often too late.

And I think that regardless of the price, there's nothing you wouldn't pay to save somebody you love. Chat Satterfield, live in Cypress, Texas and I'm in telecommunications. And I'm Rene Satterfield and I work for a construction company. I had cancer back when I was 29 and so my wife knows about that and she saw the advertisements about doing the full body scans. So she had been looking at it for, I would say, a bit of a year. That's what kind of caught our attention, but she was really the person who kind of pushed it for us to take care of that. The cost initially, then there was ⁓ a sale that went on for a couple, which then caught her attention. And then she called me. We immediately booked that day when she saw the sale. So I'm on board for it because I mean, to be honest, when you reach your fifties, it's better to be safe than sorry. So there's no guarantee, but this helps, you know, kind of confront things before they get bad. If something comes up. We both got the full body scan and we were in and out of there in half an hour. So they were, and they were very informative, knew what all the scores were going to mean and explained all of that to us. It turns out that I have pancreatic cancer, but it was caught so early because of the scan. It's allowed me to tackle this upfront. So I've already been through surgery once. I may have to go through a second surgery, but it was caught like in stage one. And the area that it was caught in, normally you don't catch that unless it's by a scan, or you have symptoms and if you have symptoms, it's already too late. basically this full-body scan is what I think saved his life, to be honest. His oncologist literally said he's never seen it caught this early, and typically, pancreatic cancer is spread by the time you find it or have symptoms and they caught it before it had spread. We feel like it has the best possible outcome given the circumstances. I think this has made us more aware of trying to be proactive in our health going forward, especially at our age, trying to catch stuff early enough that you don't, with this full body scan, you don't have to wait for symptoms to arise. You can try to confront stuff in advance. So we've kind of started spreading the word to this to everybody that we know about how helpful this was. We've recommended it to just about everybody we know plus people we just happen to come in contact with because obviously considering his results, we think that it's literally a life-saving ⁓ procedure that is completely painless and you could get information not just about something major like he has, but when you get your calcium scores and all of that, you can be proactive. I think that... as we age, have a tendency to write things off, even if you are having symptoms and you think, this pain is just because, you know, I'm this old or whatever, and that's not always the case. And there are a lot of things that can be lurking that you're not aware of until it's too late, or, you know, whatever it takes to treat that condition is a lot worse than just getting the scan and hitting it head-on before. What it offers a person, even as a baseline for what their body is currently at that point of the scan, they know how to move forward from there. They don't have to wonder. It puts their mind at ease. I would like to point out that after these results, the company that I work for even went in and set up a corporate account so that an offer to pay for half the cost for any of the employees. if the price was discounted, offer that to employee spouses as well because of the fact that we felt so strongly about... I feel like it saved his life. There is a price to it, and it does fill a void between what insurance covers and what it doesn't, but you can't put a price on watching your kids or your grandkids grow up. I mean, it's priceless basically.
