The interview
Why do you recommend Book Launchers?
I recommend Book Launchers because you will end up with a book that is not boring. As somebody who has read hundreds and hundreds of personal development and nonfiction business type books, it's tough to find a book that's entertaining. Julie and the team ensure there are no boring books allowed; you walk away with something fun, unique, in your own voice, and high quality.
What is your book and how has it changed your ability to communicate?
My name is Nick Hutchison and my book is titled Rise of the Reader. Before writing my book I had a hard time articulating a lot of the frameworks that I used to retain and implement more from the other books I was reading, but since I wrote my book I now have an opportunity to teach people in a clear and concise way.
What were you looking for when you hired Book Launchers?
What I was looking for was accountability. I needed somebody who held me to the fire, who constantly required me to do the work and then provided me feedback on it. I don't work well in a silo or in a vacuum. I need a little bit of community and Book Launchers was able to provide that for me. Otherwise, I don't think I would have been able to complete my book project.
What was the number one benefit of the experience?
The number one benefit was the accountability around getting my book done. Now that it's out there in the world and it's impacted thousands and thousands and thousands of people, I'm just so happy on the positive impact that I've been able to make. Documenting a decade worth of information into this book and being able to gift it to people or provide it as a business card has been really useful.
How did you know Book Launchers was the right fit?
I knew Book Launchers was right for me when I met Julie. Julie has so much charisma and knowledge and she's so much fun to work with. She's the same person behind the scenes that she is in front of the camera. Working with her, I knew that I was going to get a good quality outcome and that was really important for me as an author.
How has having a book improved your life and business?
It has improved my life in so many ways. I'm doing more podcasts and more speaking gigs. It's a great testament for the business I run, which is a book marketing company. Telling the success story of selling so many thousands of copies to prospective clients has helped me elevate my career. It also doesn't hurt when people type my name into Amazon and see a book with hundreds of positive reviews.
