I like the idea of getting 8.5 % on my money rather than the 3.5 or whatever it is my bank was at at the time.
I use it kind of like a savings account. I just put in a small amount one day and the next day took it back out just to see how easy things work.
As soon as my interest gets above $10, it automatically invest the $10 back into the bond since they're $10 each.

The interview

How do you feel about your investment with Compound Real Estate Bonds so far?

Having invested with Compound Real Estate Bonds, I'm very comfortable. I'm glad I found it. It meets my banking needs and I like that very much. I will continue with them unless things change.

Are there other products within the platform you have explored?

They have another product called Compound Gold Bonds, which I've invested in too. I suggest to anybody that is listening to this that they might want to look at that as well because there's some fairly lucrative investment opportunities there.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you are located?

My name is Jan Alsen, I live in Arizona and winter in Mexico. I'm retired, but I have a number of businesses that I work with remotely.

How did you discover the company and what motivated you to join?

I think I found out about it on Instagram. I like the idea of getting 8.5% on my money rather than the 3.5% or whatever it is my bank was at at the time. I've been with Compound Real Estate for probably 16 months or so, give or take.

How do you use the platform in your daily financial life?

I use it kind of like a savings account. I thought, let's just try it. I just put in a small amount one day and the next day took it back out just to see how easy things work back and forth. I pull money out probably once a month. The rest of the time, I just keep depositing as big as several thousand per deposit to as small as $10.

What has your experience been like with the customer service team?

My representative Paul that I deal with on most days has been extremely helpful. He makes it easy for me to get funds in and out and ask questions. I even make suggestions, like allowing them to look at my address book to make referring friends easier.

How does the reinvestment feature work for you?

They have a feature called reinvesting. So as soon as my interest gets above $10, it automatically invests the $10 back into the bond since they're $10 each.

Did you have any hesitations before investing?

There is a hesitancy when things are significantly better than the norm. Banks are probably averaging 3.5% maybe 4.5% now. I'm comfortable with it after having had money in and out, and with Zelle, it goes very quickly.
