The interview

What was your initial reaction to using FairSplit?

When they all agreed to use it, I was thrilled. Then once they figured out how to do it smoothly, it went really well and very quickly. That was, like I said, it sure beats standing around going room to room.

Can you introduce yourself and describe the estate you were managing?

I'm Ned Cammack from Dallas, Texas. The items in the personal estate before the fair split, there were almost 1,000 items. It's quite a large house, and the people have lived there for over 60 years.

How many beneficiaries were involved and were there conflicts?

There are five beneficiaries of the estate, and some of them wanted what the other ones wanted.

How did the family decide to use this specific software?

I found out about the fair split through one of the siblings. She had proposed it a while back and then we did a little research and all of the children agreed to utilize it.

What was the outcome for the beneficiaries after using the platform?

What I noticed after using fair split was that even though some of them didn't get exactly what they wanted, they all agreed it was a fair process.

How did this compare to your previous experiences with estate division?

The way I have done it before with my own family was we basically just chose a few items that we wanted and then we had an estate sale. But this was an entirely different thing. There was so much more stuff and some pretty valuable items and more people involved.

What would you tell others considering FairSplit?

It was just so much easier. I would tell them it's probably the easiest way to split up anything without people fighting over it.
