The interview

Who are you and what is your professional background?

Hi, I'm Beverly Sensabaugh and I'm a retired administrative assistant.

What motivated you to join the Peak Launch program?

I was hoping to explore just some health issues that I had had. My grandmother had Alzheimer's and I did not want to end up like that. And my husband and daughter went through the program the year before and I knew I was gonna go do it. So I decided now was the time.

How would you describe your experience going through the program?

My experiences going through peak launch has been extremely difficult to be honest. I thought I was very healthy and yet there were certain things that popped up that—nothing serious—but things that I needed to address. It's just been an emotional roller coaster. But I am really glad I did it, but I'm glad I didn't know what I know now before I started.

What was the most challenging part of the protocol?

One of the main challenges is the food sensitivities. I had no idea of the food sensitivities that I was sensitive to and a few of them, it could make no difference, but my top one was dairy. And I grew up on a dairy farm and to have to give up dairy and gluten and sugar, it has been really hard. I felt like in a way I was giving up my dad because he was a dairy farmer.

How did the timing of the program affect your progress?

I began in October. So originally it's a 90 day protocol. So that meant I couldn't have any of these things for 90 days, which was during Christmas. So that was also extremely difficult because I couldn't eat the Christmas cookies that I have made for my entire life.

What specific results have you seen so far?

I still have a couple months to go. My life has changed in that I have lost 19 pounds, which has been wonderful, and that was one of my goals. So that's been really, really good.

What is your advice for others considering the Gapin Institute?

For those of you considering peak launch, I would do it. It's worth every penny. It just means so much to have someone go through with you. The Gapin Institute is just top notch. The program works, but you also have to be willing to do the work. It's not just gonna happen because you joined the program.
