The interview
What convinced you to hire Geobear for your project?
What convinced me was the very good customer care. They were very communicative throughout the discussions and gave me a very good report done through video on my phone about what they felt the problem was and what we needed to do to solve it. They were informative about the time it would take and the pricing was competitive against the market.
Can you describe the specific issue you were facing with your property?
It was an outbuilding, my garage. What I noticed was that the brickwork had dropped on the back corner of the garage by about half an inch. It's clearly not what it should be doing, so I needed to think about how to repair that and what we were gonna do to fix the problem.
What were your main concerns when looking for a repair solution?
For me, it was the disruption and time taken, and the cost certainly. I'm aware that general underpinning and traditional ways can be quite expensive and time-consuming to be done. So it's really just a question then of thinking about and looking at available options to get the repair done as quickly as possible.
How long did the process take from initial contact to completion?
I spoke to them over about a week or so, just confirming the specification and getting the pricing right. And they were then on site within 10 working days. They were there just for the day.
What was the experience like while the team was on site?
They kept me very well informed across the whole of the day, what they were doing and why they were doing it. They even let me look at the numbers and see how it had changed and the fact they'd managed to put the garage back straight, which was really interesting.
How much preparation was required on your part?
In terms of prep work, I didn't have to do an awful lot, just clear the area they were gonna work in. Then they moved the slabs and everything else needed to be moved to give them access to do the repairs. There was very little needed except to give them a space to work in.
Why would you recommend Geobear to others?
I recommend Geobear because they were very communicative and kept me informed across the whole process. The team that arrived were very friendly, clean, and tidy, cleaning up after themselves. The pricing was competitive and the general communication with everybody—from Jessica in inquiries to Amy in accounts and the onsite team—was excellent.
