The interview

What do you love most about working with Dr. Traci Potterf?

The thing I love most about working with Traci for me personally is her approach to healthy hedonism. She makes the healthy version the most seductive, yummiest version that makes you want to choose health instead of feeling like you 'have' to eat a certain way. She makes you want to choose the best thing for your body.

Why did you start working with Inner Genius Health?

I started working with Traci because I got really sick. I had a lot of gut problems and I couldn't find any solutions from Western medicine. I had known Traci for a while and knew her knowledge is infinite; she is basically the smartest person I know, so I fully trusted her.

How did you feel about the cost of the program?

It can be expensive to invest in functional medicine, but my health was the most important thing to me, and so the money was worth it in the end. I could either be sick forever or I could spend money on my health and get better. There's no point in spending money on anything else if I'm not healthy.

What other treatments had you tried before this?

I've tried a lot of things. Multiple different doctors, multiple different therapists, multiple different diets, multiple different gut doctors, naturopaths, kinesiologists... I can name a million things.

How is Traci's approach different from other practitioners?

Traci's knowledge is so broad that she can touch on multiple different things and pull those other things in if you need them. She can look at the whole instead of just one section of it. Having weekly meetings helped me commit to myself; she was cheerleading me on, tracking my progress, and building on knowledge she taught me the week before.

What was the timeline and outcome of your recovery?

I had to accept that it was going to take a few months to get better, chipping away at it. I got better and better, flatlined at maybe 10 pounds lighter than I was, and upgraded my eating patterns and lifestyle. Even when I got sick with something else later, my general quality of life was better because I had upgraded all these things.

Frequently asked

Is functional medicine worth the investment?

Miranda Rudegeair acknowledged that while functional medicine can be expensive, she felt her health was the most important thing to invest in. She concluded that the money was worth it because the alternative was being sick forever.

Miranda (00:00) The thing I love most about working with Traci for me personally is her approach to healthy hedonism - as in, like, the healthy version is the most, like, seductive, yummiest version that makes you want to choose health instead of being "I'm eating this way now, I'm doing this." You're actively, like, "I'm so excited about this right now, I'm so excited about the way I'm feeling." As humans, we usually do what we want. And she makes you WANT to choose the best thing for your body. Miranda (00:30) I'm Miranda Rudegeair. Miranda (00:32) I started working with Traci cause I got really sick. I had a lot of gut problems and I couldn't find any solutions from Western medicine. It can be expensive to invest in functional medicine, but my health was the most important thing to me, and so the money was worth it in the end because I can either be sick forever or I could, you know, spend money on my health, and get better. There's no point in spending money on anything else if I'm not healthy. So it was important to me. I've tried a lot of things. Traci's knowledge is so broad that she can touch on multiple different things, and pull those other things in if you need them. But she's more of like, She can look at from the whole instead of just one section of it. It really helped me to commit to myself by having weekly meetings with someone who was kind of cheerleading me on, and tracking my progress, and also building on knowledge that she taught me the week before. And so, it was just, like, every time we met, I was opening up more and more of the picture instead of just like taking a bite-sized piece of it and, you know, trying to dissect a little bit at a I got really sick and had to accept that it was going to take a few months to get better, chipping away at getting a better state of health overall. So I got really sick, and got better, better, better... flatlined at maybe 10 pounds lighter than I was, and just upgraded my eating patterns, and my lifestyle, and then I got sick with something different. Did it again. But then when I flatlined, and got better, I was up here. I was at, like, a different quality of life from last time. So, you know, after the treatment, after getting through the yucky bit, my general quality of life is better because I've upgraded all these I would recommend Traci to anyone because her knowledge is so broad. Anything someone says to me, I always think Traci would know what to do with this.
