The interview

What is your professional background and why did you seek out Dr. Potterf?

I live in Honolulu, Hawaii and I work as a journalist. I'm a contributor to the local paper, the Honolulu Star Advertiser, and I write a column on technology and health. The issue that compelled me to talk to her was concerning sleep. I had difficulty falling asleep and I thought Traci might be helpful in suggesting some ways I could fall asleep easier.

What was your initial impression of Dr. Traci Potterf?

She knows what she's talking about. She knows her space. And she's got integrity. She's honest. I just felt I can trust this woman, and she's very smart. I was impressed with her intelligence; she's very bright. She just kind of resonated with me.

What was your stance on using pharmaceuticals for your sleep issues?

I'm not a big fan of pharmaceuticals. I had been prescribed pharmaceuticals before for sleep, and I didn't like the idea of being dependent on them. I was opting for a more natural way, and Traci seemed to... you know, that's her bag. That's what she does.

How did you handle your osteopenia diagnosis with Inner Genius Health?

A little bit later, I was diagnosed by my PCP with osteopenia and he prescribed a pharmaceutical. I mentioned that to Traci and asked, 'Do I need to take this pharmaceutical?' And she said, 'no.' She recommended a supplement, and combining that with a regimen of backpacks with weights and tweaking my diet a bit.

What were the measurable results of this natural approach?

It changed the equation. A year later, my DEXA score, the results were very positive. I gained bone mass density, which is the whole name of the game.
