Masha DeRosa, a practitioner at the Institute of Restorative Health, transformed her practice by moving from general holistic advice to targeted clinical protocols. After completing the Gastrointestinal Healing module, she successfully identified the root causes of her own chronic hives and weight loss issues, while putting her practice on track for a rapid ROI.

The interview

What was your professional situation before joining the program?

I was already a Nutritional Therapy practitioner. I was working holistically with clients, but I really felt like I'm missing a very big part of a puzzle. Like, how to tailor clients protocols specifically for them.

What were your expectations versus the reality of the course?

The thing that I thought I was going to get was how to interpret functional labs. What I got instead is so much more. First of all, the amazing community—I feel like I found my people. Second, is the functional look at the labs, the in-depth protocols, and just the knowledge to look at a client from a holistic perspective.

How would you describe the quality of the instruction and the pace?

The practitioners that lead the course are phenomenal. Considering how much knowledge, how many tools, how much practice we've gotten from it, it was very quick. It is a wonderful place where you feel seen and heard as a practitioner.

How has your practice changed since implementing what you learned?

It absolutely recalibrated my whole practice, and I feel much more confident. My practice has improved because I know exactly what foods to recommend to clients or what supplements to recommend or not based on what they actually need or what they're sensitive to or not.

What specifically surprised you about the gut healing approach?

I would say one of the things that surprised me the most is the art of combining the functional labs with client symptoms. Especially the food sensitivity test, and how important it is for any practice. It allows me not only to share this with my clients, but also help them heal their gut so they could introduce those health foods back again.

Can you share a success story from using these tools?

My biggest success story so far is my own. I ran the labs that I learned on myself, and I created a protocol for myself that was evaluated by a wonderful practitioner from the course. For the past half a year, I've been having extreme hives on my face and I wasn't able to gain weight. I realized I have many foods I was sensitive to, and I found I don't digest fats or proteins. My hormonal issues and hives are now improving more and more.

Frequently asked

Is the Institute of Restorative Health worth the investment for practitioners?

Masha DeRosa stated that even before starting, she knew it was worth it, and after the Gastrointestinal Healing module, she realized she would make her money back very fast. She describes the program as a 'no-brainer' due to the depth of knowledge and tools provided.

How does the program help with complex client cases?

Masha explains that the course teaches the 'art of combining functional labs with client symptoms.' This allows practitioners to know exactly which foods or supplements to recommend based on what a client actually needs or is sensitive to.

Can practitioners use these protocols on themselves?

Yes, Masha used herself as her first major success story. By running the labs she learned in the course and having her protocol evaluated by a course practitioner, she addressed her own chronic hives, hormonal issues, and malabsorption.
