The interview

Can you tell us about your professional background and early life?

My name is Jill Rathburn and I am from Columbia, Maryland. I am a holistic health nurse, a health and recovery coach, and an NES bioenergetic practitioner. At a very young age, I always wanted to be a nurse and I really gravitated towards anything related to health and wellness. I became a pediatric oncology nurse, which I did for a couple of years, and eventually started a medical education company with my husband.

What was a major turning point in your personal health journey?

My biggest moment in life is when I realized that I had an alcohol addiction, which took me fifteen years to realize. From the outside, I looked like a successful business owner and active mother training for triathlons, but inside I was struggling with unresolved childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety. My coping mechanism was drinking, which eventually led to excess weight, anxiety, and sleep issues due to sugar dependence.

What were the limitations you found in Western medicine during your recovery?

My biggest moment in medicine was when I realized how limited Western medicine was to tackle alcohol addiction because it is a very comprehensive disease. Shortly after I got sober, I had many ongoing health challenges, and my allopathic primary care doctor told me my challenges were just related to my age. I realized the solution for me was not with Western medicine but lied with holistic health.

How did you discover NES and what were your first impressions?

I was introduced to the NES bioenergetic system over two years ago at a holistic health fair in Sarasota, Florida. I was immediately blown away because it took the guesswork out of energetic health. Just by putting my hand on a scanner, it nailed all the issues I had been working on—my liver, my gut, my memory, and my energy—and organized the information clearly.

How do you use the NES system in your professional practice today?

I became a bioenergetic practitioner to bring the NES system into my health and recovery coaching practice. I use the scans to read between the lines of a client's health; dysfunctional habits shine through loud and clear in the energy strength, flow, or mind-body sections. It opens the door to discuss things like poor diet or alcohol use that are keeping their health from moving forward.

What impact do you hope to make using this technology?

As a holistic health nurse and health coach, the biggest impact I can make is to help clients overcome lifelong dysfunctional habits and take control of their health. Regardless of circumstance, experience, or disease, I find that health coaching with the NES system can tackle virtually anything if the person is open to a new experience.

Frequently asked

Can NES bioenergetics help with issues that Western medicine cannot solve?

Yes. Jill Rathburn found that Western medicine was limited in tackling the comprehensive nature of her recovery. She discovered that NES provided the 'missing link' in energetic health, addressing lingering challenges like brain fog and low energy that her primary care doctor attributed simply to age.

How accurate is the NES bioenergetic scanner?

Jill Rathburn reported being 'blown away' by the accuracy of the scanner. Despite the practitioners not knowing her history, the scan immediately identified her specific struggles with her liver, gut, memory, and energy levels on the screen.

Is the NES system difficult for practitioners to use?

Jill highlights the 'ease of use' as a primary benefit. The process involves simply putting a hand on a scanner to map the human body field, which then organizes information clearly for both the practitioner and the client to understand.

Speaker 0: My name is Jill Rathburn and I am from Columbia, Maryland. I am a holistic health nurse, a health and recovery coach, and an NES bioenergetic practitioner. Okay. At a very young age, I always wanted to be a nurse and I really gravitated towards anything related to health and wellness, which I still do. I did go to college for nursing and I became a pediatric oncology nurse, which I did for a couple of years and absolutely loved it. And then eventually I did get into other areas of healthcare including starting a medical education company with my husband. My biggest moment in life is when I realized that I had an alcohol addiction. But it took me fifteen years to realize this. And I want to share my experience because I think it's pretty common particularly among women who are high achievers. So let me share more. So for me, I was always very focused on my career and my family. And I owned a few different companies and worked hard to make those succeed. My family, we were very active, a loving family, and all of our family activities revolved around the kids and their hobbies and their sports. While all this was going on with a successful business and happy family, I was also so into training for triathlons. I'm a spin instructor. I was doing daily yoga. So from the outside, it looked like all was well. Kind of the perfect perfect middle aged woman. Well, inside, I was really struggling. I was struggling with unresolved childhood trauma. I was struggling with depressed depression, the normal anxieties of life, and I was it was a really a house of cards inside of me, and my coping mechanism was drinking. Now I didn't really think anything of this because all of our friends drank. And in fact drinking is so accepted in our culture that I it was validated that I was just normal. But eventually over time it became clear. My family and very an inner circle of friends approached me and it was clear that I had a problem and then I eventually got help. And what I didn't realize then was in addition to fighting an alcohol addiction, I was also fighting a sugar dependence because alcohol converts to sugar in the body. And when you you when using alcohol is spiking your blood sugar. And over time, especially for women as we go through the change, this brings on a lot of health issues, all of which I was dealing with, which was excess weight, anxiety, depression, sleep issues. So it was truly a very difficult time for me. So my biggest moment in medicine was when I realized how limited Western medicine was to tackle alcohol addiction because it is a very comprehensive disease and Western medicine was just very limiting. Let me share a little bit more. So shortly after I got sober I just assumed I would get better and that just did not happen. I had so many ongoing health challenges and when I went to an allopathic Western classic primary care doctor he actually shared with me that my challenges related to my age even though I shared with him that I was suffering and in recovery from alcohol use disorder. So this being my point is that I realized that the solution to my particular challenge absolutely was not going to be with Western medicine but was what really lied with holistic health. So as a nurse that was trained in Western medicine, I realized that I needed to sort of break out of the standard mold and I proceeded on a healing journey. And I worked with a lot of holistic health practitioners and I actually got better pretty quickly except for two lingering challenges and these were big and it was brain fog and fatigue or low energy. And so I interestingly I had a great relationship with my acupuncturist who shared with me that I was having weak energy coincidentally twenty years earlier when my alcohol use had begun my acupuncture then told me that she was noticing quite a weak and poor energy flow. And so I sort of put it together that the missing link for me was not anything with bio chemistry at this point. The missing link was in energy or energetic health and what we now call today as bioenergetic health. So as I shared, I really felt that the missing link all lied in energy. And so no one was more excited than me than when I went to a holistic health fair. Now over two years ago in Sarasota, Florida and I was introduced to NES bioenergetic system. And I was immediately blown away and realized that this was the solution in a way that I had been looking for. It was an opportunity to take the guesswork out of energetic health. And so there were so many things that impressed me immediately. First is the ease of use. Just simply putting your hand on a scanner and which maps the human body field energetically. Then second, of course, the practitioners there, no one had met me whatsoever. And so, you know, this was really kind of a study right on the spot because up came on the screen all the issues that I had been working on. I was I it nailed it. My liver, my gut, my memory, my energy. There it was. And it organized the information very clearly for me to understand where my energy, was weakest and where I was deviating off the norm. So during this time I began coaching and I realized that I wanted to bring the NES system into my health and recovery coaching practice and so I became a bioenergetic practitioner. So my number one tip when working with people would be to really read in between the lines of the scan. I find that dysfunctional habits, lifelong habits shine through loud and clear on the scan. Sometimes it's in the energy strength section. Sometimes it's in the flow, often in the mind body section. And it's a golden opportunity to dig deeper and say something like, if there was anything in your life that you would like to change or is keeping you from leading your best life, what might that be? And that opens the door to somebody saying, oh, I've just been eating junk food, or I find myself eating late at night when I shouldn't be, or I'm hitting the cocktails a little harder. But it doesn't everybody. And they always sort of roll off an excuse and you know you're getting to the crux of the matter of what's keeping their health from moving forward. I have the honor to work with many different kinds of women and often they're going through really difficult times. And regardless of what the issues are I have found that health coaching and with the NES system definitely we can tackle virtually anything. In other words, I can help you on your wellness journey regardless of circumstance, experience, or disease. And the key thing is to be open to a new experience. As a holistic health nurse and health coach, the biggest impact I can make with my clients is to help them overcome lifelong dysfunctional habits, take control of their health so that they can transform their lives.
