The interview
What was your situation before working with Lauren Lee Stone?
Seven years ago, I brought my son, Max, who was suffering his entire life from PANS and all of the symptoms associated with it: irritation, anger, rage, and neuroinflammation. I had been a seasoned chronic Lyme PANS, Pandas mom, working with a lot of different practitioners and trying traditional things like antibiotics for probably more than a dozen years at that point.
How did Lauren Lee Stone help your son Max heal?
Lauren really helped us by using not just herbs, but supporting his immune system, as well as helping him with detoxification. We were able to use herbal antibiotics and to really successfully eradicate those different infections that were holding him back. He really had a lot of infections—he had nine co-infections—and we were able to support it and really get to the other side of PANS.
What makes Lauren's approach unique compared to other experts?
What surprised me the most after working with some of the top experts in the world is her process. Traditional and functional doctors would give you a protocol and you would be on it forever, even for two years. Not Lauren. She's very strategic. She works through different components—the immune system, infection, detoxification—and as you move through them, you actually change your protocol.
What was the most dramatic difference you saw in your son?
The most dramatic difference was that he was able to regulate. These infections and toxins were causing so much neuroinflammation that he was constantly dealing with flares and dysregulated, irritated, angry behaviors. Because we got the infections and inflammation under control, he really was able to start to shift his behavior and it brought Max back to who he was supposed to be.
Why do you recommend Lauren Lee Stone to other families?
Lauren is a compassionate caregiver who has been there and understands because she did this work for her own child. She is incredibly smart, a strategist in supporting the immune system, and she knows those systems and the different ways to hack into the body to help it heal. She is a well-rounded expert who is continuing to educate herself.
Frequently asked
Do traditional antibiotic protocols work for long-term PANS recovery?
According to Roseann Capanna-Hodge, traditional treatments like standard antibiotics were insufficient for her son's decade-long struggle. She found success with Lauren Lee Stone’s strategic approach, which shifted protocols through phases of immune support, infection eradication, and detoxification.
Can a child with severe neuroinflammation and rage behaviors actually heal?
Yes, Roseann reports that after working with Lauren Lee Stone, her son Max was able to regulate his behavior because the underlying infections and toxins causing neuroinflammation were brought under control, ending the cycle of constant flares.
How does Lauren Lee Stone's process differ from top functional doctors?
Roseann noted that while other experts often leave patients on the same protocol for years, Lauren is a 'caring strategist' who changes the protocol as the patient moves through different components of the healing process.
