The interview

Can you share a recent success story from your practice?

Recently, I had a patient who came to me on a bunch of different cholesterol and blood sugar medications. She had type 2 diabetes and she was not feeling well on those medications and wanted to take a lifestyle and diet approach. Within a couple months she was able to get off her type 2 diabetes medications and her entire condition was reversed and she no longer had it.

What specific interventions were used to achieve this result?

She did a few things including intermittent fasting. She wore a continual glucose monitor and determined what foods were causing those high blood sugars. We worked on her sleep.

Who are you and what is your professional background?

Whether that's diet or sleep or stress or movement. And collaborating together to come up with an individualized plan to work towards their health goals.

What do you like to do outside of your medical practice?

When I'm not practicing I like to spend time in nature and our family really enjoys collecting wild mushrooms. And so, we go out in the summertime and mushroom hunt.
