Robin R. Marquez, a physical therapist specializing in women's health, uses SNiP Nutrition to address genetic deficiencies in methylation and detoxification. By identifying specific SNPs before hormone testing, she helped patients overcome brain fog and weight gain. Marquez reports that the CODE Complex simplified supplement regimens, improved patient compliance, and served as a foundational baseline for oncology rehab.

“It clearly showed I had deficiencies in the methylation process and detoxification. And this is where you break down these estrogens and it's so important and this was never really addressed.”
“It's just that their genes are predisposing them to some complications, and we have a solution now.”
“I would highly recommend that everybody starts with the SNiPs Nutrigenomics as a baseline to really find out what you're working with.”
The interview
How were you first introduced to SNiP Nutrition and what was your initial interest?
SNiP was introduced to me about six months ago at a conference, and I thought for sure I would try it myself. Having a practice where I work with women all the time, it's something very much of interest to myself personally but as well as to my practice. I was looking at it from a perspective of how I could identify my own personal SNPs and to see how that had an effect on my health.
How did your personal health history influence your use of the CODE Complex?
I am a two-time cancer survivor and so I wanted to look back and really see how my genes predisposed me to some additional problems. It reiterated a lot of the problems that I was experiencing even before I got cancer, such as infertility and a long history of endometriosis. My CODE Complex report clearly showed I had deficiencies in the methylation process and detoxification, which is where you break down estrogens.
How have you integrated SNiP Nutrition into your professional practice?
I started reintroducing it to some of my clients because what I do in my practice is we look at women's hormones and we also do thermography. I start women with the genetic testing first, we get them on the CODE Complex and we address their areas, particularly the ones that they have the SNP mutations in one or two variants from their parents. Then we test their hormones. It's really kind of been a game-changer for a lot of people.
What specific patient complaints does the SNiP reporting address?
The reports identify key areas which really are mostly what women come in and complain to me about: increased weight gain, brain fog, and they're just not able to lose weight no matter what their diet is or how much they exercise. The ten target areas cover lack of energy, weight gain, brain fog, and gut dysbiosis—things that very oftentimes get ignored in most visits.
What are the benefits of the color-coded reporting for patients?
It's so helpful to have it in a simplified report where people can actually see it color-coded. These are the areas that you don't have to worry about, and these red ones are the ones we really have to hone in and focus on. It breaks it down and simplifies the amount of supplements that you have to take, and I think it is cost-effective because you're able to reduce the amount of supplements you're taking because it's all for you in the CODE Complex.
What is your recommended protocol for using these supplements with other treatments?
I'm able to now test genetic SNPs first, and then I go on and have them on the supplements for three months so I can get their baseline established and get their pathways working effectively. Then we can get a true assessment of what their hormones are doing, and we tie that in conjunction to the thermography as well.
Frequently asked
Can genetic testing help explain why generic diets and supplements aren't working?
Yes. Robin R. Marquez notes that many women do 'everything right' regarding diet and exercise but fail to see results due to genetic predispositions. The SNiP reports show patients that their struggles with weight and brain fog are not their fault, but rather a result of specific genetic SNPs.
How does SNiP Nutrition simplify a daily supplement routine?
Marquez highlights that the CODE Complex is cost-effective because it custom-compounds over 70 ingredients into one formula based on the individual's DNA. This reduces the total number of separate supplements a patient needs to take while ensuring the ingredients are specific to their genetic needs.
Is SNiP Nutrition useful for practitioners managing hormone health?
According to Marquez, it is a 'game-changer.' She now uses the genetic testing as a baseline for three months to get pathways working effectively before performing hormone assessments, leading to more accurate testing and better overall results.
