A couple of benefits of working in a shared space for me has just been the ability to meet new people on a consistent basis without having to venture out and spend extra time networking. The networking comes to you.

Which specific amenities do you use most for your business?

The one thing that I use the most as a chef—the kitchen is the most valuable asset that we have. And the fridge space, obviously. I also love doing my office work there. I used to do it at home, but I found myself getting distracted by, you know, I gotta clean this, I gotta clean that, I gotta organize this.

How has the environment impacted your productivity?

Being able to, like, lock in and get all my blogs done for the week, get all my editing done for the next content that I'm putting out, having phone calls, having meetings—it probably saves me 20 hours a week.

What makes The CO-OP community unique in supporting its members?

One benefit that will keep me at Shoal Creek is that they go to bat for you. If there is a position that they're in that gains success for anybody in their community, they're going to do it without hesitation. Heather puts on the behind-the-scenes actions and takes care of everything for everybody.

Can you share an example of a successful collaboration within the space?

We do this really awesome collaboration with Magic on Edge. It's a magic show that they put on 2 to 3 times a month. We like to go and serve drinks there, we serve little snacky options for people to just kind of grab and go. And that's been a huge blessing because I love working with Travis.
