The interview

Can you introduce yourself and your background?

My name is Calista Poe, and I'm from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. My major is business entrepreneurship and business management. Working here has helped me develop leadership skills for a future career where I will be managing people, focusing on time management and leading others effectively.

What was your situation before joining Vector Marketing?

When I first started, I was working at a daycare making $14 an hour right after graduating high school. I was trying to figure out how to pay for college, and $14 an hour wasn't going to cut it. I was approached via Instagram and decided to run with the opportunity because I needed more money.

Did you have any hesitations about the legitimacy of the company?

Oh, yeah, absolutely. And still, like, two years later, I still do. But once you kind of get into it and you realize, like, once you get your first paycheck, you're like, oh my gosh, like, this is really easy work. It's a lot of fun, and it's not a scam at all. It's a really amazing opportunity.

Can you describe a specific success you had during a sales push?

This last summer during a push period, my original goal was $15,000. On the last two days, a lady approached me on Facebook after seeing my posts. In less than a 30-minute Zoom, she decided to get three signature sets with steak knives. It was a huge CPO, and I ended up breaking the SC2 assistant manager record.

What do you enjoy most about the company culture?

Honestly, it was just the culture and the people. I met my best friend working with Vector. As a 20-year-old college student, it is cool to surround myself with people who want to see success at a young age and who push you to be a better person every single day.

How does the flexibility compare to other jobs you've had?

The flexibility has been 100% better than other jobs. With other jobs, you're scheduled at a specific time and might get fired if you don't show up. With Vector, you create your own schedule. I'm involved in a sorority and intramurals, and I can prioritize my personal life and schooling before I even have to think about work.

What professional skills have you developed through this experience?

I would definitely say public speaking and communication in general. I've always been extroverted, but with Vector, I've seen myself turn that personality trait into a professional one. I've also been able to connect with people on deeper levels.

What has been the biggest impact on your life?

The financial opportunity is so cool. I've been able to personally pay for college myself without having to go into any student debt or take out any loans at all. I can pay my fees and sorority dues on time, which I didn't expect to be a reality at 20 years old. It opened my eyes to what is possible.

Speaker 0: Alright. Hello. My name is Calista Poe, and I'm from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Yeah. So my major is business entrepreneurship slash, like, business management, and it's really just helped me to develop, you know, those leadership skills, you know, hopefully in a future career where I will have to be managing people, to really just, you know, focus on time management. And then also, like I said, leading other people in an effective way. Yeah. So when I first started working with Vector, I was also working at a daycare, so making, like, $14 an hour, and that was right after I had graduated high school. So I was kinda trying to figure out how I was gonna pay for college, and, you know, $14 an hour really wasn't gonna cut it. So I was approached with this opportunity, via Instagram, and I was like, well, I need some more money. So I decided to, you know, run with it, and it's been absolutely amazing ever since then. Yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And still, like, two years later, I still do. But once you kinda get into it and you realize, like, once you get your first paycheck, you're like, oh my gosh, like, this is really easy work. It's a lot of fun, and it's not a scam at all. It's it's really amazing opportunity. Yeah. Yeah. So this last s c two, this last summer, I was in a push period, and I was trying to sell a huge amount of Cutco within those seventeen days. So my goal originally was $15,000 and then I kept hitting those different milestones and goals and stuff. And on the last two days of the push period, I had a lady approach me literally just on Facebook saying, I know this might be a little bit crazy, but I've been seeing your Facebook posts, I think that it's time to finally pull the trigger. And she decided to, end up getting three signature sets with steak knives. So huge CPO, and then I ended breaking the SC2 assistant manager record. And so that was just really, really cool. It was less than a thirty minute zoom with her and I was able to sell three of our bigger sets. Yeah. Honestly, it was just the culture and the people that I've been able to, like, surround myself with here. I've absolutely met my best friend, you know, working with Vector. And it's really, really cool as, a college student. I'm only 20 years old to be able to surround myself with people who want to see success for themselves at a really young age. So, you know, like I said, being surrounded by those people who want to not only like work alongside you, but push you to be a better person every single day is really, really cool. Yeah. Yeah. So I would say 100%, like, the flexibility of it has been so much better than other jobs. Right? Because with other jobs, you're scheduled at this time and if you don't show up, like, you're probably going to get fired at the end of the day. So, with Vector, you get to create your own schedule and I'm also involved in like a sorority and intramural stuff and a bunch of other stuff around campus. So, I'm able to prioritize the other things that I want to do in my personal life and in my schooling before I even have to think about work, which has been really cool to experience. Yeah, I would definitely say like public speaking and just like communication in general. I've always been like a super outgoing kind of bubbly personality, very extroverted. But with Vector, like I've seen myself kind of turn that personality trait into more of like a professional one, which is really cool. And then also just being able to connect with people on deeper levels has been really awesome to see as well. I would just honestly say the financial opportunity is just so, so cool. Like, I've been able to personally pay for college myself without having to go into any student debt or, you know, take out any loans at all and be able to pay those fees on time along with my sorority dues and everything else that I need to pay for in life as well, which is not something that I expected to be, you know, a reality for me at 20 years old. And it's just really opened my eyes to what is possible in the world. And instead of like worrying about, you know, the finances and stuff like that, I'm able to kind of just have this really, really fun job where I get to connect with people. And then, you know, get paid to do it. Right? And then also just, like I said before, just making those connections with really cool people in in the company that we work with and making new friends is really cool. Yes, absolutely.
