The interview

How is the communication with the Acta Football coaches?

The communication, it's great. We have group text with the coaches, and so they'll check in before her games and kinda give her some goals and action items. Typically, we follow up and she'll say, 'Hey, you know, I was brave and I did this, and it worked out.' Just very encouraging, so the back and forth is just fantastic.

Can you introduce yourself and your daughter's soccer background?

My name is Susan Overton. I live in the East Bay Area just outside of San Francisco, California, and my child is Kennedy Overton, and she's been playing soccer since she was four years old, so it's... now she's 11. Up until a more recent point, it's just been a lot of fun for her, and it's really something where she had shifted, and I could tell she became passionate about the game and wanted to learn more.

Why did you decide to approach Acta Football?

Club soccer is awesome. It provides a lot teamwork and socialization. If you're at a top club, you typically get top coaches. We were experiencing all of that, but what you don't get is the individual training, the targeted IQ that you want your child to get. Specifically, the coaches, they have a great reputation, have proven results. They've also have mentored and worked with a lot of elite soccer players, especially girls, and we've seen their progression and their path.

What has your experience been like with the Acta Football course?

The experience with ACTA has been fantastic. They are very professional. Their course has been professional. What I like about it is that I've been able to kind of take it along with my daughter and really understand how she's learning and progressing, and then I see that on the field, which is kind of fun.

What specific changes have you noticed in Kennedy's game?

Immediate was confidence, like day one. It's just talking specifically with Coach Garrett. I remember him specifically saying how much he believed in her, and that, I swear, increased her game by like fifty percent just alone. She's learned how to be smarter on the field. Definitely her finishing has been fantastic because of that. It's really helped her confidence, her speed of play, her decision-making, and then her results.

Would you recommend Acta Football to other parents?

I would say absolutely with a caveat that their child has to want to do it, and they have to be motivated to do it and mature enough to do it. Kids always do better when it's really they feel like it's their decision versus the parent's decision. If your child is committed, I would say absolutely.

How does Acta Football communicate with parents and players?
