Kay Brittain found lasting relief at West & Co after struggling with severe back pain that made walking half a block difficult. Following a six-week spinal decompression protocol (four days per week), she restored fluid to her dry discs. This non-surgical approach succeeded where injections, acupuncture, and pool therapy had previously failed.

The interview

What would you say to someone considering West & Co?

If you're considering working with West and Company, I would say call them, make an appointment. You have nothing to lose. You have only to gain.

What was your physical condition before seeking help?

I was hurting so bad, and I waited for quite a while before deciding to go for help. I would walk to church, but it was so painful. I live one half block from the church. It hurt so bad to walk over. So I would drive my car a half a block to get over to the church because I hurt that bad.

What other treatments had you tried previously?

I had tried other chiropractors. I had acupuncture. I even went for massages once a month. I did pool therapy. I did three different times shots in my lower back by a doctor. Before I got home to my daughter's, which was only ten minutes, the pain was back. I did that three times, and I had the same results every time.

How did you find Dr. Aaron West?

After all those processes, I decided that I needed someone. So I just googled back pain, and Dr. Aaron West's name popped up. And so that's how I found him, and he was my savior for my back pain.

What was your experience like with the doctors and staff?

My experience with Dr. Aaron and with his father, they are the most congenial people. Dr. West, he would ask me questions when I felt the pain, which was all the time, and he would quiz me about different things so I could relate to him what was going on. He didn't just put me on the bed and say, 'Okay, this is what we're gonna do.' He was patient with me. Oh my goodness, his staff, they're just so friendly, and they remember me.

How did the doctor diagnose the specific issue in your back?

I said, 'Is there anything else we can do, Dr. Aaron?' And he said, 'Well, if I had an MRI, I could tell what's going on in your back.' I had it sent to Dr. Aaron, and it showed a dryness in my disc. He said, 'Look, Kay, every single disc is touching each other, and that's what is wrong. We have to do something because the discs, they don't have the fluid. They're dry.'

What did the treatment process involve?

That's when I started with the procedure where I went and got on the table and did that for six weeks, four days a week. I did the decompression. It stretched my discs so that the fluid would be back there. I mean, no matter what he would have done or anybody would have done, it had to have the fluid back in the disc.

I'm retired, and I taught for thirty-two and a half years. I was hurting so bad, and I waited for quite a while before deciding to go for help. I had tried other chiropractors. I had acupuncture. I even went for massages once a month. I did pool therapy. I did three different times shots in my lower back by a doctor. He didn't just put me on the bed and say, "Okay, this is what we're gonna do." He was patient with me, and I said, "Is there anything else we can do, Dr. Aaron?" And he said, "Well, if I had an MRI, I could tell what's going on in your back." And sure enough, I had had one for this doctor before that did the shots in the back. So I had it sent to Dr. Aaron, and it showed a dryness in my disc. And Dr. Aaron took me into his office, had the X-ray right or the MRI right there. He said, "Look, Kay, every single disc is touching each other, and that's what is wrong. We have to do something because the discs, they don't have the fluid. They're dry." So that's when I started with the procedure where I went and got on the table and did that for six weeks, four days a week. I did the decompression. It stretched my discs so that the fluid would be back there. I mean, no matter what he would have done or anybody would have done, it had to have the fluid back in the disc. And the MRI proved it, and I was so thankful, and I know Dr. West knew, "Okay, we're gonna do the decompression." Oh my goodness, his staff, they're just so friendly, and they remember me. I can't say enough good things about them. When I first started with Dr. West and suggested that he had so many, many little things that he would tell me to do, stretches in bed and countless things that we tried before we knew the MRI and then after. And I would have these little questions, and he'd say, "Kay, I think you could try this or that." If you're in the weeds and wondering what to do because of your pain, try Dr. West, the West Company. You won't be sorry.
