Shifted from Intuition-Based Decisions to Holistic Business Scaling and Strategic Marketing

My name is Kathleen Magoy and I'm in Longmont, Colorado. Before working with the Femme Meets Fortune Mastermind, I was working on growing my business. I was just about one year in when I learned about the Mastermind, and I was really learning about what to do, how to make decisions around my business from a limited number of sources. I had a couple mentors, I had a lot of leadership experience but it came from nonprofit executive director background. So the way that I was approaching my business and that choices that I was making, came largely from intuition and a little bit of advice. I decided to say yes to the Femme meets Fortune Mastermind because I really trust Dr. Diamond. I have known her for years and have watched her invest in her own businesses, her own ideas and visions. And I know that she's an extremely hard worker. I know she leaves no stone unturned, and through witnessing her perseverance and her brilliance, I was drawn to learn even more by participating in her Mastermind. What surprised me the most about the Femme Meets Fortune Mastermind was one, so I have a lot of experience with facilitating and I know how difficult and challenging it can be to just be on your toes at all times not knowing what folks are going to bring to the space, what their questions, challenges, concerns are going to be. And so I was incredibly impressed at how Dr. Diamond hosted a space where spontaneously she invited in any questions, challenges or concerns. She didn't know what people were going to bring to the space prior to meeting and yet with every question that was raised she had some wisdom to share. Not only that but Diamond was very adept at welcoming the wisdom of the group. She always checked in to say, you know, what other questions are there, what are their ideas are there? So while she shared her advice from her amazing depth of experience, she also lifted up an added value by recognizing that every person in the room also had something valuable to share. And I really appreciated that because it added depth and richness to the learning experience for everyone while also building a supportive community amongst women. I think another quality I'd like to share about the Femme Meets Fortune Mastermind is that Dr. Diamond is a fun and lighthearted person. So even if you're bringing a serious inquiry, if you're feeling kind of low Dr. Diamond's able to meet that, meet you where you're at and also shed light on the bigger picture. She's got a huge heart in addition to her brilliant mind, and she'll hold you with that loving care and probably make you laugh. So that you can go back and look at that hard situation that you're in with a little bit more lightness, self compassion and grace. What I'm able to do after participating in the Femme Meets Fortune Mastermind is bring a different lens to how I'm approaching my business, the decisions that I'm making around my business, how I wanna scale, how I wanna spend my time. Dr. Diamond offered very practical and straightforward logistical models and formulas for understanding things around marketing, around how can I prevent burnout, something that I think is so important for entrepreneurs and all of us truly. Specifically, what I really enjoyed and I'm actively doing now is thinking about my vision. Where do I want my business to go? And what do I want my personal relationship to be with my business? A key gem that Dr. Diamond shared with all of us is the importance of thinking about our lives holistically. What is the lifestyle that I want to live? Thinking about that first, how do I wanna prioritize my own relationships, my activities, my wellbeing, my pleasure? And how do I think about those things while also thinking about financial goals, business growth and impact? And I really appreciated that well-rounded perspective that she invited us to consider at every choice and every decision. And it's made me more conscious about how I'm making those decisions with my business. The conversation around pleasure supports my business goals because I think we all can get a little bit drawn to imagining that life happens in this one linear path. And I can rely on my mind with strategy and sort of this black and white thinking, pros and cons, and really cut off the thinking from the neck up. And so the conversation around pleasure really me and I think all of us to drop into our bodies, to tap into other sources of wisdom and intuition that each of us holds and to bring priority and value to those. So the way that I am approaching my business is not only from the mind and thinking about it, but really feeling into what feels good, what are my truest desires, what will light me up and turn me on when I see that happening in my business. So I love the fact that Diamond prioritizes talking about pleasure and she doesn't set it aside. It's integrated and informing every single one of our conversations. The only thing that almost prevented me from signing up for the Mastermind is question around time commitment and the fact that I'm already involved in a number of women's groups and movement groups and self-development groups. So I wasn't sure how I could fit in another group and make sure that I made the most of the opportunity. Choosing to sign up for Femme Meets Fortune was definitely worth the investment. What I realized was that I could always make time for the group calls. I didn't always have enough time to follow through with the course content and I still have interest in going back and... trying to catch up with the content to make the most of the investment. However, the group calls were incredibly informative and valuable and that's where we formed community with the other participants and gave me an opportunity to have a direct line of communication with Dr. Diamond for my own inquiries and also listening, witnessing, observing how she responded to the other members of the group.
