The interview
Who are you and what is your current role?
I'm Jean Perez. I'm from the Philippines and I'm supporting an executive in the coaching business. Basically she's supporting women out of being burnout, all the executive women. I've been with her for more than a year and so far so good.
What was your professional background before joining Atlas?
Before Atlas, I was already with another client as an executive assistant, but in another lifetime, I was in sales. I worked in an aesthetic clinic. The pandemic inspired me to try remote work and that's what led me here.
What were you looking for in a placement agency?
I want a fulfillment of not just being a task-doer, I want to feel like I'm a partner. Obviously I'm working for her, but I want to feel like I'm also working with her and how I can contribute to the company as well.
How does Atlas compare to other agencies you have worked with?
I've been with another placement agency before as an executive assistant, and I could definitely compare how Atlas is really stepping up not just for the executive, but for the executive assistants as well. It's really a win-win situation.
How did Atlas support you during major life events like starting a family?
Atlas has provided security. I just gave birth to my first child. And so I was on maternity leave for about a month. Job security has really been one of the things that I didn't really worry about.
What was the recruitment and onboarding experience like?
The application process is very challenging and I love how it really filters the executive assistants who really are of this certain quality. It gave me a sneak peek of everything I need to know about the company and the core values like ownership, liability, and being proactive.
Can you describe the working relationship with your client?
My client likes to give feedback, not just positive one, but constructive one. As simple as she would ask me to do slideshows and I would tell her I don't have much experience with social media, and she said, 'okay, give it a shot.' These slideshows eventually were presented to the clients.
