The interview
What surprised you most about working with Computer Market Research?
What surprised me most was that everyone on the staff is super knowledgeable. They're experts in what they do, and Dell doesn't hesitate to get the right people involved when needed to resolve any issues. Dell is very involved too, which is helpful because he wants his clients to be happy and is very customer-centric.
What products are you currently using from Computer Market Research?
We are currently using the co-op MDF product, deal registration, and the learning management system platform LearnDash.
What were your primary goals for expanding your relationship with CMR?
Our goal at the time was to streamline the deal registration process, to encourage our partners to register their deals, and to provide more visibility to our sales team and partners in deal opportunities. Our other goal was to provide a learning platform for partners where they could watch on-demand training videos and find supporting sales and marketing tools.
How did the implementation process differ from other vendors?
They worked with us to give us the solution that we needed and were open to our needs. They listened to what was unique to us based on our processes and systems. That was really different from other experiences in that they really accommodated and made the changes that were necessary to provide us with the tools that worked the way we needed.
How did CMR support you through the setup of deal registration and the LMS?
Dell's team supported us through the entire process. They were responsive throughout the whole thing. We were really moving fast with overlapping launch goals, and the team really kept up and worked with us to ensure everything worked and that we met our launch goals.
What was your biggest challenge before implementing the CMR DealReg portal?
Our original deal registration process was really manual, where the partner would complete an online form on our website, and then our sales team would have to re-enter the data into our CRM platform, Salesforce.com.
What specific benefits have you seen from the new DealReg portal?
Now the partner enters their deal opportunity information and it automatically integrates into Salesforce.com, which eliminates the extra step of data entry by our sales team. It also provides the partner with visibility and status of their deal registration and allows us to better track the deals.
How did the team handle the implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO)?
The CMR team worked with our web agency, our web team, and our sales operations to get the process working. If there were any issues, they worked to get it resolved as quickly as possible because they knew it was important to us to make the process smoother and easier for our partners.
