The interview
What made you passionate about becoming an Image One franchisee?
What got me passionate about being a franchisee owner was actually the people. They're really good people, they're very friendly, open, and honest. When starting a business, that's really what you're looking for. It wasn't just that they're an award-winning company, but that the people behind them know what they're doing.
What surprised you most about the process of becoming an owner?
What surprised me the most was the surreal moment where you're going through the process and then all of a sudden you look behind you and you're already through it. It was real easy and just really good.
Why did you choose Image One over other franchise opportunities?
I looked at a lot of franchises before Image One. I chose them because one, they're veteran friendly; two, their startup costs weren't astronomical; and three, the people are very educated and experienced. You want somebody to work with you and show you the way along the path.
Can you describe the training experience in Chicago?
The training with Image One was exceptionally good. When I was there in Chicago, we did about four or five walkthroughs, had lunch about three or four times, and then even after that they went back to the office and we did even more training. They want you to be more than familiar with the computer system so when you go back to your home state, you actually know how to operate the system.
How do you feel about the financial investment and the return you've seen?
The investment in Image One was sizable but compared to other franchises it wasn't really as much as a steep drop as you would think. I'm pleased with the price. The return on my investment took about maybe eight months coming and it's still going, so I expect it to keep growing and flourishing.
What has your experience been like with the business development team?
The business development team of Image One has been great. They're really understanding. I'm really grateful and thankful for them because they understand the process—not everything goes perfect, but everything works.
Would you recommend an Image One franchise to others?
I recommend buying an Image One franchise because the experience of buying and growing a franchise is freeing. When you put the power, knowledge, and experience behind you, you are definitely going to be set up for success. If you're looking for a franchise that's affordable and knows their business, I definitely recommend Image One.
