What hesitations did you have before hiring an engineer?

At first I thought, why pay more or hiring an engineer? Because I haven't actually built a home past and I also thought it was kind of extra money for me to spend while the builder was already going to take care of a lot of standards and processes. In fact, the city also is involved with respect to the inspection process so I was kind of like relying more on the builder and trusting the builder and the city.

Why did you decide to hire an independent engineer despite those hesitations?

However, like buyer standpoint in addition to the standards or the checks that the city or the builder asks it is important for the buyer to also do their due diligence and keep check on things so that you get the results to your satisfaction. If you're sitting on the fence my recommendation to you is it's your home, you spend so much of money on your home and it's kind of very important for you to get it to your satisfaction.
