The interview
What was the immediate impact of Mike speaking to your group?
He spoke to my group, and literally, in ten minutes, there's one of the guys in my group is a former NFL player. His name's Josh. So, literally, in ten minutes, he blew everyone's mind. It was the best talk of the week, and he asked some very specific questions. And by the end of ten minutes, Josh had a new business model, a pitch deck, a rap video.
Who are you and what is your professional background?
Hi, I'm Nick Sonnenberg. I'm the CEO of Leverage and Operational Efficiency training company, and I also run a mastermind group called the Optimize Group, and I'm the author of Come Up for Air.
How would you describe Mike Koenigs' expertise?
Mike, apart from being a dear friend, he's just a brilliant thinker. He's a brilliant just marketing and business strategist and thinker. And now that he's become a thought leader and an expert in the AI space, something that I find really a unique advantage and like a secret weapon now of Mike is he's taking all that kind of historical knowledge that he has in terms of how to market, how to brand, how to create business models.
How does Mike combine traditional marketing with new technology?
He's also an expert at all these new, cool AI tools, and he's been able to combine the two different fields in really interesting ways. Understanding when and how to use these and stitch them together to solve bigger problems is really where you get the exponential power.
Can you give a specific example of a tool Mike taught you to use?
One of the things Mike taught me was this tool, Gamma, which is an AI tool for creating slides. I was just playing around with it last night putting a deck together for this new company, and in ten minutes, I have a fantastic slide deck. I spent ten minutes setting it up and another ten minutes tweaking it.
Why is it critical for businesses to adopt AI now?
If you're not thinking about this stuff right now, you still have an opportunity to get ahead of your competitors. But I think with all this stuff, with efficiency, with AI, if you're not thinking about this, you'll be at a massive disadvantage in the next couple years because your competitors are just going to be able to move so much faster.
