The interview
What did you think you were buying versus what you actually received?
I think the thing I thought I was buying was recipes and some instructions and I think what I really got is some sanity in my life. I think just feeling that overwhelm of trying to do all the things like nutrition and home cooked meals is very important to me but trying to keep that a priority along with all the other things in my life that are a priority was just too much, so it's like I've outsourced this to Prep Dish.
Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Lisa Dean. I live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Why do you continue to be a customer of Prep Dish?
I think the reason I'm a customer is because it does save me so much time during the week when I really need that time. I have kids things going on throughout the week, three nights at least and so I like putting in that time upfront at the beginning of the week so that during the week, it frees me up to be present with my kids. Also, I just really hated meal planning and I would dread that every single week and so it's just very worth it to me to pay for someone to do that for me.
How has your family dinner experience changed since using the service?
I think before Prep Dish we were eating meals as a family. I think the thing that's different now though is maybe just in the evenings I have some more margin because of cleanup really. Well and I'm not having to start dinner as early and then after dinner cleanup is so much easier because I'm not cleaning up the knives and the cutting board in like three different pots. Like, since I've already done that prep and so dinnertime just looks less of a mess.
What advice would you give to someone considering Prep Dish?
I would say try it and see what you think and I think for different ages and stages it works differently. I have used it in the past. For example, during the summer when my kids were really little and I knew that in the summer I wanted to be at the pool for most of the day and then I wanted to come home and not have to worry about dinner so I would say just try it and see how it goes and I would say that those prep days they get quicker the more you get accustomed to it and you figure out how to customize it and make it work for your family.
