The interview

What was your health status before working with Reimagined Health?

I'm a fairly healthy eater to begin with. I felt like I was doing a lot of things I was supposed to do but then, in working with them, it was like a complete transformation. My gut problems—they helped me figure out exactly what foods I was having issues with and all these issues I'd been dealing with went away.

How did the program impact your daily functioning and mental state?

My diet improved which improved my mood and my energy. The supplements they had us on, both of us noticed a pretty significant impact in just our daily functioning. Brain fog was gone. It was pretty dramatic and I didn't anticipate that. I would say both of us felt so hopeful which we had not felt in over a year. It was huge.

Can you describe your experience with traditional fertility treatments?

Once we started trying we actually got pregnant very quickly but then had a miscarriage almost right away. The next month, the same thing happened. My OB said 'keep trying.' Six or nine months later we had another miscarriage. We did four rounds of IUI—none of which worked. In that process I had some pretty awful experiences with that clinic and their bedside manner.

How did Dr. Nashat and Dr. Christina assist with your surgical needs?

I eventually asked for a test for my fallopian tubes and found out one was blocked. I've had two abdominal surgeries and the fallopian tube surgery actually was while I was with Dr. Nashat and Dr. Christina. They helped guide me through what to do with that, which was super helpful.

What specific improvements did you see in your labs and fertility markers?

The labs that both my husband and I did, everything improved. Everything that he needed to work on, he did and there was significant improvements in sperm health and in egg health. I was able to see improvement in my BBT and improvement in my hormone levels because I was actually able to track those.

What was the ultimate outcome of the program?

Four months after working with them, we got pregnant. Unfortunately, that did end in miscarriage but then we got pregnant again not long after. And everything has been healthy so far.

How did your perspective on your body change during this process?

What Dr. Christina and Dr. Nashat were able to teach me was just such a profoundly different way of viewing myself and my capacity and my body's ability to conceive. I think that played a huge component in addition to obviously the physical changes that occurred with the regimen.

Frequently asked

Can functional medicine help if I have a physical blockage like a blocked fallopian tube?

Natalie Brown found that while she required surgery for a blocked tube, Dr. Nashat and Dr. Christina guided her through the surgical process and recovery. They then used functional medicine to optimize her hormonal and physical health post-surgery to support conception.

Is the Reimagined Health program difficult to follow?

Natalie Brown noted that the regimen takes some willpower to maintain, but she emphasized that it gives the patient much more control compared to the standard fertility clinic experience of constant injections and pills.

How does gut health impact fertility and hormones?

Natalie discovered that her gut problems were directly impacting her hormones; by identifying food sensitivities and improving her diet, she saw measurable improvements in her BBT, hormone levels, and mood.
