The interview
What has your experience been like as a Sunrise Investor?
Being a Sunrise Investor has been great. I love the communication they put out every month. They're very transparent about what's happening in each park, how they have improvements to the parks, cashflow—all of that. I love seeing that transparency.
Can you introduce yourself and your professional background?
My name is Jeff Bleau, I'm from Phoenix, Arizona, and I work on the finance side of large scale construction.
How did you first hear about Sunrise Capital Investors?
I heard about Sunrise Capital Investors when I was actually looking for content that was made by Kevin Bupp, and ended up finding some of his old podcasts, which led me to searching for him on the web, and found out that he was now running Sunrise Capital Investors.
What factors influenced your decision to move forward with the investment?
What made me move forward with the investment was all of Sunrise's really great communication and transparency, as well as the knowledge of their investing onboarding team. I drilled them with tons of questions, and they had answers for every single one of them.
What attracted you to mobile home parks and parking garages as an asset class?
It came out of my own experience from dealing with single-family residential and having destruction by tenants. I started looking around for different asset classes and I got into mobile home parks and said, 'Wow, this is an asset class that's 100% owned by the tenant, yet is still generating rent every month.' Tenants cannot destroy the land that these mobile homes sit on, so I thought that was an excellent asset class to be involved in.
What do you like most about the company besides the profits?
The depth of knowledge of everyone that I've encountered there. From Kevin, who initially attracted me to the fund, to all the videos that Brian puts out, and then all the communication that I get from Alex on a monthly basis is amazing. I'm very thankful for that.
What advice would you give to someone considering an investment with Sunrise?
I would say definitely consider the asset class, how it compares to other single-family, residential or multi-family. And then, give Sunrise a try. Look at their information, drill them with questions just like I did. And you're probably going to find out that this is an asset class that is worthy of being in your portfolio.
