The interview
What specific results did you see during the eight-week program?
That same year, the eight weeks prior, our revenue grew over 30,000. Our hours went up 200 hours within the first week and they went up 600 by the end of the sprint. The results just happened from week one.
Why did you decide to enroll in HomeCareSales?
I actually decided to enroll with Home Care Sales after meeting Melanie during one of our town halls for the home care CEOs. She was so full of energy and information and good advice. I just left that town hall with a lot of notes and I was like, how great would it be if she were able to come and talk to me and get that buy-in.
What was the onboarding process like for your team?
Right away, they started building that connection from the jump. They wanted to really dig in and know what we were wanting out of the program, where we were seeing the gaps here at the agency and where they could really fill in. They had the notes, they had the recordings from the session. They would always have homework that they would take away from it.
What specific skills did your sales team develop?
Some of the skills that I think were developed right out of the gate were being able to qualify their accounts. When they were taught the skills and what the scripts to use in qualifying their accounts, it really was an eye opener for them. And they've been able to make a lot smarter decisions going forward.
How did the training impact your veteran and new staff differently?
We had a sales and marketing person who's been with us for nine years and you're thinking what could they possibly learn. It almost brought back a zest for her position again. For my new salesperson, it was a game-changer. It was a quick introduction into the home care world and it was something that I would have probably spent six months trying to navigate that myself.
What was the overall experience of the Sales and Marketing Sprint?
It was condensed in eight weeks. It was fun, it was practical, they very much enjoyed it, and they actually asked me what's next because they are looking for the next training opportunity with home sales.

According to Mandi Barnum, results happened from week one, with service hours increasing by 200 hours in the first week and reaching a 600-hour increase by the end of the eight-week sprint.
Is HomeCareSales effective for sales reps from other industries?
Mandi Barnum found it to be a 'game-changer' for a new hire from a different sales genre, condensing what would have been six months of navigation into a practical eight-week introduction.
