What is your overall impression of living at Sunrise Community?
It's a great place to live. You know, the property managers, the maintenance folks... they're kind, and they'll help you get through the process. So it's a good... it's a good venture.
Can you introduce yourself and where you live?
My name is Melanie Howe and I live at the Meadows of North Lewisburg, and I'm an operations specialist for a senior living organization.
What led you to look for a new place to live?
When I made a change in my career, I needed to live closer to the region that I serve. And I ended up renting in a city, and it was pretty busy and loud. So the expense, and the lack of peace—I needed something more rural.
How has your experience been since moving to the Meadows?
I looked into the Meadows, and I've been there since July. It has been really good. I started out on a short-term lease, and then I purchased my home. And it is peaceful. It's clean. My grandson has lots of friends to play with. It's a great school district, and just overall it's a... it's a quaint town.
What does homeownership mean to you in this community?
I have peace of mind that my home is mine. I can take care of it. It stays with me. Like, it's mine! And I get to have my pets that I love. It means a lot.
How was the process of working with the staff?
They helped me find answers, helped me get through the process by being very responsive and I've just had a great, great experience working with them.
How does the community handle maintenance requests?
When I first started renting, there was a maintenance issue. And they were very quick to show up and take care of it.
How would you describe the feeling of living there now?
It's a place that I chose, and it's friendly, and it's quiet, and it's clean, and I love pulling up to my home.
