The interview

What is your background and how did you find The Sleep Lady?

Hello, I'm Georgina Gonzalez. I'm from Mexico, currently living in the UK. I was previously a sleep deprived mother. I came across Kim West's method and it changed absolutely my life and my motherhood. I was in a very bad situation when my first one was born, and the sleep was nonexistent. It was a very dark moment in my life.

Why did you decide to become a Gentle Sleep Coach?

When I realized and I found out that there were people that were helping and had the answers I was looking for, I just made my decision of being that person for other mothers. I just want to be the person that helps their situation in a very positive way and allow them to enjoy motherhood.

What are your specific areas of expertise in sleep coaching?

My three key areas would be definitely sleep regressions, early rising, and bedtime. Bedtime is the essence of everything. Whatever happens at bedtime is going to determine everything else when it comes to sleep.

What other certifications do you hold?

In addition to Gentle Sleep Coaching, I'm also a Gentle Potty Coach and I'm certified to work with multiple kids.

What changes do parents typically see in their children after coaching?

99% of the time, parents tell me, 'Georgina, what happened to my child? You just change them.' They're happier, they're more confident, they fill with more self esteem. And all this is because they have owned their sleeping process.

Can you share a specific success story from your coaching?

There was a three-year-old girl still breastfeeding to sleep. We did a super slow process to help the mother empower herself. Around day nine or ten, the girl told her dad, 'No, dad, I can do it by myself.' She grabbed her water bottle and her teddy, went to her room, and put herself to sleep. It was absolutely amazing.

How does your previous career as a teacher influence your coaching?

I used to be a history and psychology teacher in high school. When people ask if I'll go back to teaching, I say no because I have my new students. My new students are parents. They satisfy my teaching need in another context and it feels really amazing.

I'm the best Gentle Sleep Coach because I really care. I really care about your children. I really care about you. I really care about the relationships that you're having and how they might be being affected by the sleep deprivation because I know they're going to do so much better when they sleep well, and so do you. Hello, I'm Georgina Gonzalez. I'm from Mexico. I'm currently living in the UK. I was previously a sleep deprived mother. And I think that one of the things that I appreciate the most about my motherhood is the fact that I came across Kim West's method. It changed absolutely my life, my motherhood. I was in a very bad situation when my first one was born, and the sleep was nonexistent. It was a very dark moment in my life. And definitely when I realized and I found out that there were people that were helping and that knew what to do and had the answers that I was looking for. I just made my decision of being that person for other mothers. And I just want to be that for them. I just want to be the person that help their situation in a very positive way and allow them to enjoy motherhood, So my three key areas would be definitely sleep regressions. The other one will be early rising. I see so many problems and so many issues with early rising. And lastly, I would say that it would be bedtime. bedtime is the essence of everything. Whatever happens at bedtime is going to determine everything else when it comes to sleep. In addition to Gentle Sleep Coaching, there are other certifications that I have. One would be, I'm also a Gentle Potty Coach. And I'm also certified to work with multiple kids. Like 99% of the time, parents tell me, Georgina, what happened to my child? You just change them. They're happier, they're more confident, they fill with more self esteem. And all this is because they have on now their sleeping process. And it's beautiful for them to realize that this is something they can do. And I really enjoy So definitely something that I like focusing on is empathy. It's understanding where you're coming from and making sure that I fit everything so that you feel like this is something you can accomplish. I think one of the most significant ones for me was this little girl that was three years old. She was still breastfeeding to sleep. The mother didn't know what to do, was completely lost, didn't have any idea on how to even stop it. We did a super slow process, just mainly to help the mother empower herself, realize that she could do this right, while we were also allowing the girl to have other things that will help her fall asleep to start with and then removing them slowly. But I would say that maybe around day nine or ten, the girl, it was like nap time. And the dad was going to go and take her for a nap, and she said, no, dad, I can do it by myself. She grabbed her water bottle, she grabbed her teddy. She said, I'm fine. I can do this. She went to her room, put herself to sleep, and it was absolutely amazing. I remember when they shared that to me, I was like, thank you, thank you, thank you. I used to be a teacher before I was a history and psychology teacher, high school. I was working in different countries around the world. When I had my son, I stopped working so that I can dedicate myself fully to my son. And then I became a Gentle Sleep Coach as a consequence of it. Whenever someone asks me, would you be thinking on going back to teaching at some point? Is it something that you're looking like to do at some point? And I always say, no, I have my new students. My new students are parents. They satisfy my teaching need. It's absolutely brilliant. And I feel like I'm still doing that just in another context. And it also feels really amazing. I look forward working with you. Please schedule your call in the link below.
