The interview

What was your situation before joining Vector Marketing?

I was a junior in high school and Vector Marketing was actually my first job. I was unemployed and living in Georgia when I was recommended to the job by my brother, who was a district manager.

Did you have any hesitations or receive negative feedback about the company?

I received negative feedback from a lot of online people who told me that Vector was a scam or a pyramid scheme. In real life, a lot of my friends told me it was a pyramid scheme as well.

Why did you decide to say yes to the opportunity despite the rumors?

What made me say yes was my manager. At the time, he had a good vibe and I felt very comfortable around him. I did not believe what other people were saying; I believed in the conviction of the company.

Can you describe a successful sales experience you had?

About a month into the job, I did a demo for a Mrs. Jones. I was still reading word-for-word from my blue book. She already owned Cutco but bought a Homemaker set, an Essentials kit, and a frying pan for her son's wedding. I got 60 referrals from that one demo, which was the most I had ever received.

What surprised you most about working with the company?

I was really surprised with the amount of trips that we are offered and how easy it is to hit them. We can go on four or five trips a year. Most of the trips I hit were just by doing the bare minimum effort, which was a shocker to me.

What is the best part about the work environment and schedule?

The best part is that I get to create my own schedule. I can do demos and be an assistant manager but still have time for my family, friends, and myself. The environment is one of the most prominent positive environments I've ever been around; everyone is always complimenting you and hyping you up.

What specific skills have you developed since starting?

I started as an assistant manager just four months into the job. I learned communication and coaching skills by helping coach reps through PDI. Beforehand, I did not have great phoning skills because I was so new.

Frequently asked

Is Vector Marketing a scam or a pyramid scheme?

Kayleigh Gilman initially heard from friends and online sources that Vector was a pyramid scheme, but she decided to join based on her manager's professional demeanor. She found the company to be a legitimate opportunity with a positive environment and real income potential.

What kind of training does Vector Marketing provide for new reps?

Kayleigh describes using a 'blue book' to read scripts word-for-word during her initial training phase. She eventually developed enough confidence to handle referral demos and was promoted to coach other representatives through PDI (Pre-Demonstration Instruction).

How flexible is the schedule at Vector Marketing?

Kayleigh emphasizes that the best part of the job is being her own boss and creating her own schedule. This flexibility allows her to balance sales demos and assistant manager duties with personal time for friends and family.

Speaker 0: Hi, my name is Kaylee Gilman, and I'm from Georgia. Before I found Vector Marketing, I was a junior in high school and Vector Marketing was actually my first job. I was recommended to the job by my brother. He was a district manager for Rome, Georgia. And I went to district manager's office in Savannah, and he let me in the job. This was my first job. I was unemployed. I was in high school. I received negative feedback with being at the job at Vector from a lot of online people. They told me that Vector was a scam, that it was a pyramid scheme. And in real life as well, a lot of my friends told me that it was a pyramid scheme. Yes, I'm still selling. What made me say yes to vector marketing was my manager. At the time, he had just a good, you know, vibe to him and I felt very comfortable around him. I did not believe that vector marketing was what other people were out to say about it. I believed in the conviction in the company. I do have a best customer story. So it was about a month onto the job. I was just starting to get into referrals. And obviously I was still looking down at my blue book and I was reading word for word. Now Mrs. Jones was incredibly nice. She was super sweet to me and she understood that I was obviously in training. She herself already owned Cutco, but in this instance, she wanted to buy Cutco for her son because he was getting married. So she bought him the homemaker, the essentials kit, and then she also got a frying pan for herself. And throughout this entire time, she was just encouraging me, helping me go because this was my first referral demo and I was really scared, but she helped me the entire time. And this was also the first demo where I got the most amount of recs that I did at the time with 60 recs. So I felt very comfortable with her and she was just encouraging me and I felt very motivated to continue with Cutco. Working with Vector Marketing, I was really surprised with the amount of trips that we are offered and how easy it is to hit them. I really thought that most companies, they only go on like one or two trips a year, but here we can go up to four or five trips a year. And I really feel that it's really easy to hit those trips as long as you put in the effort. And most of the trips that I have hit were just by doing them bare minimum. So I feel like that was really a shocker to me. The best part about working for myself within Vector is that I get to create my own schedule where I can do all the demos I need, be an assistant manager, but also have time to communicate with my family and my friends and have enough time for myself. So I really feel that the flexible schedule with being able to make money but also having enough time to spend with family, friends, and just by myself is the main motivator for me. Some skills that I've developed while working with Vector. I started out as a system manager just four months onto the job. And beforehand, I did not have really great phoning skills. Obviously, I was still new. After becoming assistant manager and helping coach reps through PDI, I learned how to really communicate with people and better coach people. So I learned two things: communication and coaching skills. Just the positivity and the environment of Vector is really just something that I look for everywhere. And this is one of the most prominent positive environments that I've ever been around. The people, the experiences, everyone's there always complimenting you And they're always there to hype you up. And I feel like we're just one big family. With Vector, I definitely believe that if you join, that you'll have the best experience that you ever have with working with a company. You'll have the best coworkers, the best trips, the best money coming towards you. I really feel that if my friends were to join, we'd all have a great time. We'd all be going to the same trips. We'd all be going on the same yearly trips. And I feel like if someone were to join, that'd be what they interested in, was the trips and the experience. I consent.
