The interview
How would you describe your overall experience at 40 Years of Zen?
I feel that 40 years of Zen has been the most transformational thing for me in my life. It's something that I didn't know really what to expect when I came here. And I'm leaving with so much gratitude for everybody who made this happen, for my coming here and just being part of this amazing journey.
Who would you recommend this program to?
I definitely recommend 40 Years of Zen to everybody I know. All of us wanna reach our full potential, and all of us has struggles in our life, and we don't know what's holding us back. This is a place to come and really understand what's triggering us.
How does the timeframe of the program impact the results?
This is something that you can go to therapy for weeks and weeks and nothing may happen or come out of it. But here, just in five short days, you're able to understand what's going on inside your brain and go back to your childhood from the time you were born.
What tools do you take away from the experience?
You have a toolbox, so you basically, through gratitude, forgive and let go. And then as you go on in life and you have new triggers and new obstacles that come in your way, you have your toolbox and you know how to remove those triggers. And, really, again, you're able to achieve your full potential and your dreams.
What was your favorite part of the program?
My favorite part of 40 Years of Zen was really our conversations. When we came in our breakout sessions, he was able to extract things that we were feeling, but not saying. And he could put it into words for us, which we understood. It meant something. We were able to tie the dots together of what's going on.
What was the physical experience of the neurofeedback like?
I've always been fascinated with neurology. So to come and be wired up and then sit in this pod, I felt like I was flying in space and being able to kind of hear these gongs. I loved it. I just loved every part of it, but I would say the human interaction of actually talking about what happened in those pods while we were connected was the most meaningful to me.
What makes Dave Asprey's program unique?
What Dave has developed here is so unique and something that I just wish everybody could experience because it's something that helps each of us to really go inside, go deep inside ourselves, and find the gratitude, find that we're more than just our weaknesses.
