The interview

What were your expectations and primary goals for coming here?

I came into this not really knowing what to expect as probably most people do and my biggest thing was coming in is how can I do better at being less reactive and less defensive in my daily life. I have a staff of 38 ladies, I'm a surgeon and it's important for me to be able to be present listen and do a better job of being less reactive and defensive in my day.

What did you discover about the roots of your behavior during the program?

Going back into what creates that for me with my upbringing my mom and some things in my life that had happened that kind of served me well to get where I was but once I got to be at that level as an adult it did not serve me anymore and it's time for me to be able to find a way to be a better emotionally regulate myself. I found some great epiphanies and aha moments.

How do you plan to integrate what you learned into your existing routine?

My morning routine is pretty straightforward. I meditate every day for the past seven years or so but just integrating some things from here to let these neural pathways apparently opening and doing with you stay open, putting the work in. I want to make sure I change my set point so there's the ripple effect just a little bit of shifting changes each day will make some great benefits in my life.

What was it like experiencing this with your partner?

Most excited, I was able to come do this with my fiancé, Jess as we go forward so we do this together. So a lot of things for each other we were here as well in our relationship and wanted to be the best version of ourselves not only for ourselves but for each other. We were able to manifest that and really see our future a little bit in our house.

How did the program impact your vision for your business ventures?

I'm putting up a new regenerative medicine and spa and so I was able to really see that how it's going to develop and undergo and I'm excited for the future and what it holds. One of the things I was hoping to get from this course or this retreat is be more creative but I realized here that I'm really creative, I've created quite a life for myself where I came from.

What was your main takeaway regarding your personal identity this week?

Coming to terms and understanding how creative I already am and a power of mine that I already have that I didn't realize I just had to look at the word a little bit differently so that's my topic for the week was the creator, so that was pretty cool.
