The interview
What is the biggest challenge for professionals in the wellness space?
If you are in the wellness space and you want to help people and you have a business, it's a lot of work. And there's a lot of things you need to know. There's a lot of moving parts, and it's very hard to do that by yourself. We go to school to learn how to do our trade or our craft, yet it's very rare that we learn the business aspect of what it is we're doing.
Why is attending the Mindshare summit important for your business?
In order to get out there and to help as many people as possible, you need the business skills and the business relationships. When you attend this summit in particular, you are with people that can help you, that can collaborate with you and support you and guide you. That is critical. It changed my business. It actually helps me have a business.
How has your influence grown through this community?
One of the ways that my influence has grown has been collaborating with functional medicine doctors and interviewing them on my podcast so that I can share the wisdom of functional medicine and empower the women with osteoporosis, or osteopenia diagnoses to take control of their bone health.
How do medical doctors within the group interact with health coaches?
For me as a functional health coach and as a yoga therapist, I'm in this world with a lot of medical doctors. People with higher credentials than I have. And what has been so powerful for me is how they have supported me, directed me, and actually cheered me on in my quest and what I'm doing.
What is the core message you are trying to spread?
The functional medicine doctors give that credibility and they help me spread my message, which is osteoporosis is reversible. It really is support that I felt behind me that keeps pushing me forward to do what I'm doing.
