Leah Leatherbarrow Overcomes Severe Gut Issues to Return to Teaching and Mountain Biking

I met Dr. Pedre by researching online for a doctor who could actually help me. Before I started working with Dr. Pedre, my health was horrible. I was devastated by the state of my health. My health was affecting my work and just my daily life. I had horrible gut issues, and I went to so many doctors, so many specialists, gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, naturopathic doctors, even. And I just could not get anyone to help me or figure out what was going wrong. And I was really struggling, and my quality of life was absolutely horrible. What made me want to work with Dr. Pedre was I had read one of his books at the time... what he wrote on his website and the materials I read about him really made me want to meet with him. And then we did the discovery call, and I was hesitant about it. And once I did that discovery call, I knew: this was it. This was my savior. Sounds silly, but, I just felt it from that first discovery call. My journey with Dr. Pedre has been nothing short of amazing. First of all, he treats you like family. He was the first doctor to ever listen to me and who actually cared. And I didn't realize until I worked with Dr. Pedre that my issues were absolutely 100% in my gut, but they were also in my mind and my body, my whole body, my spirit. I couldn't work at the time because of my gut issues, and I'm back to working! And Dr. Pedre prescribed nothing more than I could handle, meaning every other doctor threw antibiotics at me, which furthered my gut issues. He prescribed things that actually helped. And I was so skeptical. But once I started these, after a month, I started to feel better and then a little better and then a little better. And he also gave me prescriptions that were, read this book for your mental health. He went deep into my whole trauma and what could be affecting my gut. It's not just the supplements he prescribed. He goes through your diet and he figures out what could be ailing you, he figured out I had leaky gut, even though we were in a virtual remote care situation. I have tried every platform you can think of to get help: conventional medicine, Naturopathic, virtual care, in-person care, and I was just defeated. And what surprised me most working with Dr. Pedre was that he cared. He listened. He wanted to hear every aspect about what was going on with me, not just my gut, but what has happened in the past year and he just really cared and really listened. And I thought, oh, my goodness. Even though this is virtual care, this is better than any in- person or any other virtual care that I've ever received. Because of Dr. Pedre and his exceptional care, my life has changed in so many ways. I'm back to teaching my first graders, which I love and I couldn't do. And that's just my passion. My passion is also rescue dogs. I have a few of them. Feeling better has allowed me to get out and do more work and do more volunteering with both children and my rescue dogs. And it's also allowed me to get back to mountain biking, which used to be my biggest passion and I haven't done in over a year. And now, because of Dr. Pedre, I'm back to doing all of those things. I was very skeptical to spend any kind of more money because I had put so much money into my health with no results, I was very hesitant. And I cannot express to you how glad I am.
